My husband bought me a puppy from this store and in addition to the sales staff lying about what came with the puppy (GPS tracking chip) the puppy I got was sick. Being as he was a pug when he was sneezing i dismissed it as a "pug thing" but it wasn't when he was coughing and had trouble breathing that I rushed him to the hospityal and he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
The vet at the hospital pointed out that he had been diagnosed with kennel cough before and had been on antibiotics - something which the pet store DIDN'T point out, instead they gave him a clean bill of health.
When i called about this, I was sent from pillar to post, dealing with rude unsympathetic people over the phone. No one offered to call me back, I was always told to call back in 5/10/15 min. I finally spoke to their general manager who wasn't that bad but he asked me to email him some documents which even though it took me a while to do so but when I finally did his partner/assistant tried to say that my delay in sending the paper work had something to do with the dog being sick. WHAT!!!????
So we didn't really get off to a start, after a slue of emails and comments which I found a tad offensive but over looked from the said assistant/partner it got to a point where my husband wanted half his money back or for them to pay for the hospital bill because :
a) we didn't get what we paid for. the puppy was sick and that tracking system which they made sound all high tech and worth the price is really a service from a company that PUT'S OUT NOTICES within a 50 mile radius of our home... they don't FIND the dog they just put his picture and info up at shelters.
b)the puppy ended up in hospital with pneumonia that was caused by kennel cough exactly 11 days after we purchased him costing my husband another $600 on top of what we paid them in hospital bills.
It's just really sad that it was a spur off the moment decision which I regret - the only good thing that came out of the whole experience with those people was my wonderful dog. It's after the whole ordeal that I tried reading up on the place, had I known what i know now - we would have waited to get me a dog somewhere else.
