After reading many of the complaints about Banfield I have decided that I will never take my pets there again. The following is my experiance with Banfield within PetSmarts. Though do keep in mind I have nothing against PetSmart.
I received my dog, at about 2 years old, from people that should have never had a dog in the first place. He would cower if you were around his food. Hit the ground if you touched his tail. Let it be known that this is a Lab-Rott mix and should never act like that. He was over weight, about 135 lbs. When I took him to my vet, Banfield, they did tests and found nothing. I worked on his weight with diet and exercize and he got down to 100 lbs after a few years. Then he started loosing his hair and only then did the test for a thyroid problem. That was the first mis-diagnisis.
A couple weeks ago my dog started limping. I took him to BANFIELD again. The vet said it was either Valley Fever or a torn ligament in his knee. He wanted to do some tests to the tune of $450.00. I had to decline due to financial reasons. Over the week I kept feeling that there was more wrong than Valley Fever or a tron ligament.
Well I went to an emergency vet and for less money than BANFIELD was charging found the truth. My dog has cancer and a very short time to live. Banfield, even though the couldn't have extended Big's life had made a second mis-diagnosis of one of my pets.
I'm done with Banfield and will never take one of my pet friends there again.
