Fraud
I ordered flowers from Petals in Bloom in the amount of $45.58. On 10-4-08, Petals in Bloom charged my credit card an additional $445.58. My credit card company put a fraud alert on the charge and temporarily credited the $445.58 back to me. I called Petals in Bloom and store employees kept telling me that their credit card swipe machine was bad and being replaced and that the machine was inadvertently charging cards without purchases. I left several messages with staff and managers but no one would return my calls. I talked with my credit card company and was told that credit card machines just don't do that, a person had to be putting in the numbers to charge to the consumer. After several calls and promises to correct the fraudulent charge from the florist, on 12-22-08 my credit card company called and said they would permanently credit the amount and go after Petals in Bloom themselves through their account with Discover, since they hadn't responded to Discover. I thought this matter was handled, when on July 11, 2009 there were 2 attempts to withdrawn money via my ATM/Debit Card with my local bank in the amounts of $334.98 and $231.79 by Petals in Bloom. I had not and will never purchase anything from that company again. They were using an old ATM/Debit Card that I had used to purchase flowers in 2007 for my mother in law in Detroit. I don't believe this practice should be allowed to continue and will be notifying as many agencies as I can find. This is an intentional fraud against consumers and I know I am not the only person experiencing this problem with Petals in Bloom. Thank you for any assistance or guidance you may provide in regards to this fraud complaint.
