I have service on the low-end at 1Mb/s download from HugheNet. We have been complaining for weeks because, my wife, who works at home via HughesNet is being threatened with getting fired if our Internet service connection does not improve. Over the past several weeks, we have tracked our download speed as low as 38 kb/s averaging about 140 - 160 kb/s. HughesNet wants us to close the ticket and accept this performance as satisfactory. I have steadfastly refused.
We are currently searching for another service provioder, but may have no luck. We are in the boonies and may have no other option but HughesNet for Internet access.
Their service is slow, their support is worse than doing nothing at all. I've been in the Telecom business for over 30 years and have never seen such abysmally poor service.
Currently, we are hoping to be able to obtain acceptable service from a cell service provider. My advice? If you have a choice, choose ANYONE but HughesNet!!
