I purshed a Petsafe IF-300 Wireless Dog Fence less than two years ago. The product and system worked well until it recently just powered off. When I contacted customer service to indicate this and request a replacement, I was informed they would gladly ship one for $60 and that the product would then be warrantied for 90 days. Although I found it completely unaceptable that Petsafe wouldn't stand behind its product quality and be quick to offer to replace my $250-300 unit for free, when I questioned how I was supposed to interpret the 10-year limited warranty they proudly publish on their product box and after waiting for the call-center operator to consult someone, I was told they would extend the warranty to 1 year after which time I would have to pay another $60 to replace the item if it failed in the future.

I would not recommend this product or company to anyone until they correct their stated warranty offers and de-facto warranty services.

Side note - The batteries on this unit burn out in less than two months and cost over $10 each to replace. Naturally, they can only be replaced by a specially molded battery from Petsafe. Another poor design designed to take your money.
