Bad service
Little did my parter and I know that buying a TV from WAL-MART could be such a nightmare. We purchased a 42 inch full HD LCD Polaroid TV from them on black friday of 07. The picture went blank at around 3 months. They sent a part and a repair man, that part too was no good so we waited for a second to be shipped and the repair man again. The new part got us a picture back but terrible qaulity and the repair man told us we should get a new TV based on his reporting back to Polaroid. We waited for about a month before we finally called to ask the status and were told there were no TVs to ship and that we could get a refund. Instead, we threw our hands up and decided the picture, though terrible, was sufficiant. One month before the one year warranty was up we had a new problem, the remote sensor in the set itself had gone bad. Again, Polaroid customer service said a new TV was in order and the wait started again. They shipped us an RGA through fedX but no box, cost to me 22.00 dollars. Same thing, we waited only to be told 3 weeks later there were no TVs to ship. Told that even though WAL-MART had them on sale, they were not available to us. This time I demanded the refund. That was on or around dec. 14th of 08. No refund and nothing but LIES from customer service. They told me yesterday that no refunds have been issued because the parent company is in bancruptcy, the Pedders Group, and that no refunds would be released until the end of january. I know from past calls that it is on Tuesdays that they release checks and they are mailed on Wednesdays. Well yesterday was the last wednesday in January. I was lied to. I asked for a date certain of the release of the check and was told that they were "not sure". We were also told by an angry service rep. that people that have submitted refund claims after 1-1-09 would probably end up with nothing. I have called WAL-MART and they are, up to now, NO HELP AT ALL. They continue to feed me with "Someone will call you in 3 to 5 days" about every 3 to 5 days. STAY AWAY FROM POLAROID! All POLAROID products should be avoided due to their financial situation! Do not trust ANYTHING ANYONE TELLS YOU, they are not being honest and as from what I am seeing, it is a fraudulant company. AS for WAL-MART, they STILL SELL a product that will no honor the 1 year warranty and refuse to help THEIR customers in situations like this. I suggest you avoid them as well, if possible of course.
