INFURIATED
I started my course 03/09/2009 my graduation date was to be 05/21/2010; I actually graduated on 12/14/2009. When I first went through the interview process I asked what was their success rate for job placement after completion of the course I was told 98%. I was told that they have a great curriculum and that internship as well as externship will be available and much needed to help me gain employment in the career field I choose. I was told that you work at your own pace but your work does need to be turned in and tested out of courses by certain time frames. That was fine. When all was said and done I finished my courses and actually graduated on 12/14/2009..before doing so I asked the ladies of career services for intern and or externship to help me get actual hands on experience. I was told to give a resume and I did. I emailed it on 11/02/2009 which I still have the copy saved in my sent box. Then I had a meeting with the director of career services about my resume and possible intern/externship she asked me to send another copy of my resume because somehow it got lost or deleted..so again I sent my resume via email on 12/16/2009 (still have the copy saved in my sent box)..I received a call from her saying that she was going to tweek it so that employers would actually look at it..never received an email of this being done..made a phone call to her about my resume actually scheduled an appt. to visit with her so she can help me with my career venture..went in and saw her she could not find email of my resume..Luckily I had one with me she was to look over it and clean it up so she said and send me a copy to see what I thought. Mind you I already graduated all of this should have been done technically 1-2 months before I graduated I guess or would have hoped so.She then had to get my email address again because it wasn't saved so she could send me job offers via email...ok how many times did I submit my resume to their email address?.any who..I started getting the job offers sent to my email..I applied for them all and I'm still applying to them. On May 6 2010 I talked to one of my friends who was a fellow students who informed me of our graduation ceremony...WHAT???? Our graduation ceremony was on May 14, 2010..my friend said that our invitations were sent out last week of March 2010...hmmm...I haven't moved my address is still the same..I mean I was getting all the loan paperwork from TechSkills sent to my address but NO invitation to my own graduation..hmmmm..I emailed the director of career services on May 7, 2010..I stated I graduated 5 months before my actually graduation date out of a GPA of 4.0 I received 3.8...working overnight, raising my girls and working 2 other jobs while I was in school this was devasting to me..I worked so hard for this and I didn't even get an invite to my own graduation...WOW...she apologized and email my invitation to me, she could not explain why or how I wasn't sent one..well I got to my graduation ceremony..my mother, my girls and my boyfriend was there to cheer me on..So I got past all that ;still applying to whatever they send me...then June 28, 2010 the ball gets passed from her to another director of medical placement..he doesn't know me he started after I graduated..I did talk to him on the phone briefly about what all happened and he told me that TechSkills lost their insurance for intern/externship for their students...hmmmm.so where does that leave me and those that are interested in enrolling now...since then I've been applying to everything they email me and anything Pharmacy related I see on the internet as well as in the newspaper...but I keep getting the same story from all the employers...I dont have any HANDS ON experience in a pharmacy setting...WOW...what can I say What can I do? Just throw my money away to pay off a so called education I will never be able to use...So now when my children talk to me about going to college or a university I grind my teeth...and tell them you will make the right decision follow your heart GOD will steer you in the right direction...I mean I was steered in the right direction..unfortunately I had people (TeckSkills) who showed that they don't really care as long as they make their quotas for enrollment...I must add though the day of my graduation when I walked the stage and received my certificate...The school director Scott King shook my hand and whispered in my ear he was so sorry about everything that I have endevored..I looked at him and said it wasn't his fault which it wasn't...I think the whole time I attended school their I think I might of seen him maybe 3 times in passing...but I'm a firm believer in first impressions...with that being said he was very genuine and I believed in my heart that he was truly sorry...as for the others ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! and 11 months later I still CANNOT FIND WORK..and I have an education balance with them for $28, 700.00
