Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions Reviews

Ripped off
I have a BMW, about which I am very possessive. I needed the transmission for my car and therefore I searched for this company which has a good reputation and ordered a transmission online, I was told that it would reach me in next 10 working days but 2 weeks passed and the transmission did not arrive on contacting them they said that it was already shipped and will be there in next 2 days it was absolutely fine. The transmission reached on the second day but it was not what I had ordered. I had given the complete details of what I needed. I called them back and they told me to send it back, I did so and they said that it would reach the correct transmission by next week. I was very upset but I had to wait as I had already paid for this. Next week came and went I never got my product. I called them but they never returned my phone calls. I documented more than 20 phone calls and messages and not one single returned phone call. I was now sure that I was ripped off. This company is a scam. I am shocked with the reputation which is fake.

Will not refund my core charge
I purchased a rebuilt transmission from this company on January 8, 2007. I paid for this purchase with my VISA card. It included a $350 core charge. Although they said the transmission would arrive in 3-5 days, the transmission didn't arrive until January 22, 2007. Although I could have installed this myself, in order to keep the 48 month warranty I paid $475 for, I had to have the transmission installed by a professional shop. I did so, and got my truck out of the shop on January 25. That day, I sent the core back to them. To date, I have not received my core charge refund. I have had countless phone conversations in which I was assured that my refund was in the mail. This company obviously has no intention of refunding my money.

Scam and cheating
I purchased the trainy off of Ebay for $695.00. After winning I had to give them over the phone all the payment info. They in returned it for me to sign at which time I had to fax the info back. After the installation I was close to the deadline of 30 days. So I called and talked to Paul he said the deadline was not a problem we just want to make sure we get a core in return.
After the core was picked up I called Paul back with a shipping number that he requested from me in our earlier conversation. A month passes I call to find out the status and speak to a woman name of Willow. Willow said the the core was there but sh did not have a copy of the warranty.

I think that was bull, again I faxed another copy she said that is all I would have to do. I asked if the money would be sent back to me at the time they receive the warranty. She made it clear to me I would have to wait the 30 days again. That is where I am now. It has been about 40 days no refund of core charges and no way to get a hold of them. The 2 phone numbers I have just keep ringing busy. I got played hard for $350.00.

Transmission failure and no honoring of warranty
I spent almost $3, 000 on a rebuilt transmission less than three years ago, with a warranty for 3 years. Now the transmission is failing, but the shop in Prescott Valley where they did the work has closed down. I tried calling the owner, Frank Kuperman, at their Phoenix location but maybe they've gone out of business, as I have never been able to contact them via phone. This money represented almost my life savings at the time, and now the car won't run properly. I feel hopeless, but what can I do? I can't reach these people on their 800-399-5540 number.

Bad product and REALLY bad customer service
I've been stuck in a PRT nightmare since Feb. 6, 2008!

It took two BBB complaints to get the owner to respond!!!

The owner, Frank Kuperman, did not return any of my phone calls or respond to my emails to resolve this matter. I shipped their junk tranny back to them April 23- after months of problem after problem with the unit...and sent him a friendly reminder that the bad unit had arrived and was in their hands now. The unit was supposed to be inspected the following week to determine if it was faulty due to their incompetence. Well, that turned out to be another lie told by this Kuperman character! Go figure. After emailing and calling this guy on a weekly basis, it finally took the Better Business Bureau of Arizona to get Kuperman off his duff and deal with the situation.

He finally agreed to refund $3000.00 which I have yet to see. I have sent in a complaint to the Arizona Attorney General, so we'll see where that goes.

Google search phoenixhardparts, phoenix remanufactured transmissions and phoenix retrans (I wish I had done this before dealing with this place) and you will see that they have built-up quite a horrible reputation. Not to mention hundreds of BBB complaints.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PHOENIX REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS!!

Defective Automatic Transmission
Phoenix Hard Parts, Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions (PRT) [Frank C. Kuperman ]
How a Company like this could survive stolen thousands of dollars to innocent people (including me)

I’m in Chile, Santiago. I paid through PayPal US$ 2.765 for an Automatic Transmission (AT) for my BMW 540i (1395 for the AT + 750 core + 620 shipping) After ONE moth finally I received the AT in Chile. Then, BMW dealer installed the AT, with more than US$ 1000 in labor, fluid, etc. Here we started with the Nightmare : THE AT doesn’t WORK (reverse doesn’t work )
I call to PRT, and they said that is VERY strange since they full tested the AT(false!!), but I need to send back to USA the AT (via airmail and I NEED TO PAY by myself the shipment) in order to apply the guarantee.!! Here appears the first warning: so they will repair the same defective AT
They said that NO, they already have a new one ready to me (false!), but they only were waiting for the previous one JUST to check was happened FALSE!!. After 2 moths of waiting here in Chile, they send again the SAME AT (so, here is the first stole).
What happen now: OK, Take this new AT (that was the same) from UPS Chile, spend again more that US$ 700 dollars in customs fees, go again to the BMW dealer, mount the new AT and what is the result now?? INCREDIBLE: AGAIN the AT doesn’t work!!!
What was the problem now: the car doesn’t change any gears. (Before was the reverse, so worst)

I’m in Chile and I trusted in a USA company paying a lot of money for a rebuild AT for my BMW 540i. After that, I pay: US$ 600 to send back their own defective AT. Also, I pay 2 weeks ago other US$ 500 in customs fees to enter in Chile the new AT (that also resulted defective). Also I spend more than US$ 1200 in labor and fluid in the BMW dealer to mount and dismount their defective AT.

Therefore, IS ENOUGH!! I REQUEST full refund including AND ALL COSTS, since after TWO times that I received the AT it doesn’t work. (and more than 4 months with this history IS ENOUGH !!)

However, Phoenix Hard Parts DON’T want to refund the money and insist to give them computer codes so they could “guide me!!” to solve the problem!!! Incredible: How a company like this COULD EXIST IN USA.

Please, all the people in the same situation contact : Consumer Information and Complaints,
http://www.azag.gov/ Also, I encourage to joint all the victims of this company in this site:
http://www.phoenixhardparts.net/ The only way to face this fraud is in a group!

Will not refund my core
Phoenix hard parts employs nothing but liars. They will not refund your core. They have told me on the phone for the last 4 months that everything was fine on my core and I should receive my check any time now. They will only let you leave messages for Sheila, the accountant, or Frank, the owner and neither will ever return a phone call. Not to mention the fact that they took 6 weeks to ship my transmission that was an in stock item and sent it with no bell housing or tail shaft when they told me it would have all the parts. These people are snakes and there is an especially hot place in *** designated for them.
