Not transparent
phones4u, despite written in their terms and conditions about return policy, denying to return phone bought from them within 7 days...misinformation over phone about return policy...I would not advice anyone to even think of going to buy a phone from phones4u...!...!!

After sales they treat you like donkeys
After buying a contract from phones 4 u I went to exchange my amobile within 28 days. They treated me like I am a liar and the phone is not faulty as it is working now. Then they found out that it stoped working and it is faulty they still did not change it and asked me to come back next day. I don't have time to give details but they lie and treat their after sales customers like donkeys.

rude, condecending staff
bought a payg lg ks360 on 28/01/10 - 3 days later it cuts out, and wouldnt switch back on. So i take it back to the shop, the look i was given at 1st when they saw me with a phones 4u bag, rather than the happy, chatty smile i got the previous time when i was obviously buying something.
so after explaining the situation i was told a refund wouldn't be given because there was no "fault" with the phone, so after 25 minutes of actually being laughed at when i mentioned a refund because it was broke after 3 days and after pointing out a notice saying "exchange or refund would be given if there was a fault with the phone" and being told "oh thats from christmas", being left at the desk while they conferred, and being basically ignored, they brought the same phone out, didn't even offer me an exchange to another model, and while signing the credit note, i noticed the return reason was "keyboard fault", when i pointed that out the the smirking boy behind the desk he was quick to pull it away saying "thats for our records"
best to say my parting words were not nice.
will not be shopping with phones 4u again - actually, kind of hoping this "new phone" does the same thing so i can go in and wreak some havoc.

Wont exchange phone
I updated my phone with this company on the 11th Dec. I have used this company for many years and have always renewed my contract with them. I dealt with a young lady who advised me to change over to Orange instead of O2 and also advised me to choose the Samsung Omnia handset. She at no time told me there was a no returns policy. They signed me up to a contract using their buy out scheme which basically buys you out of your old contract so a new one can start, they gave me £70 and told me this would pay off O2. On returning home and speaking to 02 they informed me I would owe them £105. I went back to phones 4 u and after some negotiation was told I would be sent a cheque for the other £35, I have never recieved this!!! Today i returned to the store after phoning them to ask if i could swap my handset as it is awful to use, they said yes this was possible. When I arrived I was told no they do not exchange phones they will swap the handset if it is faulty but only for the same one. I was put on the phone to head office and spoke to what sounded like a robot, the woman was clearly speaking from a script and would not budge or help in any way. I asked her if customer loyalty counted for anything and was told NO!! I am disgusted as always here is another company ripping people off, I am signed up to a two year contract at £35 per month and they wouldnt change my phone. I will NEVER shop there again and would not advice anyone else to shop there either. Is there anything I can do about this.

No Customer Service & Shoddy Goods
Phones 4 u are trash...when you do encounter a problem with your phone as I did(It worked for 2 hrs on christmas day then packed up) they weren't intersted! Didn't want to know! They had my money and all they would offer is a repair to a phone that wasn't fit for purpose & it didn't work! Wouldn't use them again...alll their staff are school leavers on minimum wage reeling off the speel from a manual they have sat and revised!

Misleading company
I am complaining regarding Phones 4 u in Doncaster miselling mobiles on 11th July 2009. I asked what tariff I am currently on and told them I was on £20 a month and my contract is due to end on 21st July. Dan confired that I could get handset upgrade for free and stay on £20 a month. I told them that o2 offered me £35 a month for 18 mth contract and to pay £95 for handset W995 end of contract 21st July. .Dan assured me that its not going to be that price and said it definitely £20 and everything will stay the same. I asked him again is this for real he said yes everything is the same £20 tariff. Then I agreed to take the offer thinking that its a good deal and that I didn't have to pay for the phone, as I was going to disconnect with o2 when the contract ended and start a new contract paying £25 elsewhere. When I got home I still didn't believe that this was true so I called O2 on Sunday 12th and they confirmed the upgrade was taken place and on 21st July I will be paying £35 a month for 18 months. I then visited Leeds store and they said I had to visit Doncaster Branch and Dan was on holiday this week. As I live so far I was unbale to get there so I called the Branch in Doncaster and they informed they couldn't process refunds on upgrades and I had to call Phones 4 U head office to rectify this and they blamed me for not notifying them I was on promotional tariff and that the tariff I was on was discounted. I spoke to Mark Mayer Customer Service Manager and they said they couldn't do anything but just to offer me £30 for Goodwill for complaining. Where do I stand inthis situation? please investigate the mis selling of phone tarriffs and i would like the contract which i did not agree to to be null and void as i believe if i take this to the small claims court due to the fact that i did not agree to the tarriff or was mis sold the count will see in my favour.

Rude/bullying staff
Im disgusted with the service I've got from Phones 4 U and plan to take legal action. One of their "customer excellence team" had a go at my very heavily pregnant wife and called us both liers. Itook my first contract out with the company last year and soon after started getting phone calls from an unregistered number claiming to be my insurance company asking for my bank details. I took my phone back into the same store that i purchased it from and was arguing for an hour with the so called manager that the company must be leaking customer information. He eventually agreed that if i took out another contract with them at an equal or higher price then he would stop the other contract, I was fine with this.. However 7 months later and now the problems have really started. I've been looking through my phone bills to see how i can save money as i'm expecting a daughter next month and i was shocked to find that phones 4 u have been charging me 15.71 a month without my permission, for my old contract. I thought this was an honest mistake and phoned my provider, vodafone, and explained the issue. i was told quite rightly its a fault at phones 4 u end and that i should call them and i should be able to claim my money back. I rang phones 4 u straight away and am still utterly disgusted at the response i got, i was told its my faut i've been charged as i havent been paying attention to my bills. they said i cant get my money back as i should have let them know sooner and that if i want my money im going to have to find the instore assistant who told me he would cancel the contract and get him to prove that he said it. this all insinuated that they think im lying. My 34 week pregnant wife then phoned up on my behalf and the bloke was very aggresive towards her told us its our fault for not noticing the charges sooner and that we wont get our money back. This makes me wander how many other customers are they charging until the customer notices, this is outrageous customer service and i will be phoning the head manager later to also cancel my current contract as i've never been as disgusted as i am with a service im paying so much for.
