Unauthorized debiting of account
In Jul 09 my father was sold a Cell C contract telephonically. He was informed since it was a phone conversation the call was being recorded and would be considered legally binding - to which he agreed. He was asked if he wanted phone insurance to which he answered NO!
It infuriated me to discover that even though he did not ask for insurance, he has been billed every month since then (by PhoneSured). Both he and I have tried calling PhoneSured to cancel the contract, but to no avail. On the occassion that I called, I spoke to Chris who checked the recorded conversation that confirmed my father had not requested insurance. He promised the contract would be cancelled and my father refunded. This did not happen and my father was yet again billed in Dec 09 and has seen no refund!
Looking at the other complaints for PhoneSured, I am not alone in this! How is this company being allowed to debit peoples personal accounts without permission! Where are they getting the account numbers from? I want this contract CANCELLED and my father REFUNDED!!!

For the past 3 months there have been debit orders going off my bank account for services that I do not want
I have tried to solve this telephonically and via faxes, but with no success.
For the past 3 months there have been debit orders going off my bank account for services that I do not want. It's very frustrating to just see my money disappear and there's nothing I can do about it. I am now on the verge of making sure there is no money in my account to stop this, but then I pay penalties for my other debit orders that won't go through. I just can't win!
I renewed my contract with Cell c over the phone and that's where the problem started. My bank account was debited for 'Elim' and I received sms's from Phonesured to inform me that deductions will be made for my phone insurance. I never take out insurance on my phone!
I think some telemakers take fat chances. They talk so fast and give so much information that you actually can't remember what's been said and you can never get hold of the person who sold it to you again. I'll never extend my contract over the phone again! Especially not with Cell C!
