Buyer beware! Do not purchase a Pianegonda jewelry! Especially while vacationing in Mexico!

On 01/12/08 while vacationing on Cancun, Mexico I purchased a beautiful brown crystal, Pianegonda ring. They are a well known Italian jewelry company. Wore the ring only twice in 2 weeks on evenings out and the stone cracked. Pianegonda refuses to replace or repair the ring at no charge. I purchased ring for $280.oo. They want to charge me $140.00 to repair it. Because the ring was purchased in Mexico I'm begining to wonder if the quality of the ring, stone and setting are reflective of Pianegonda selling less than perfect and possibly second quality jewelry to tourist areas such as Mexico. Nevertheless don't by Pianegonda jewelry, especially when in Mexico and the Carribean.
