I had three crowns done with this dentist last year. One of them was not adjusted well. As a result, I had to go back to the dentist three times to have it adjusted, but the biding was still not good. Then I thought it might be OK as I got used to it. However, things didn't go as I expected, so I went back to this dentist again this year to have it adjusted. The dentist told me that she would charge me $65 to have the biding adjusted since it was over a year.
I don't understand why she should charge me $65 to adjust the biding on a crown that she put on as she should have the obligation to have it adjusted properly in the first place. A dentist should be able to tell if the biding is properly adjusted or not when she puts it on, not leave it to the patient to tell her if it is good or not.
What makes me even more upset is: when I went to have it adjusted today. Her staffs (a lady and a man at the front desk) asked me to make the payment before they could let me in for the treatment. I asked them why since they never did this before in my previous treatments. They said that was their policy. I told them this was not my first time there and also I had never had such a requirement when I saw other doctors and dentists. Then they said that was their new pocicy. However, the two patients checked out right in front of me after their treatments. So they were clearly not telling the truth. This is clearly against me only. This is soly an insult to me. It is an discrimination.
In America, how could a doctor's office treat a patient like this.
