When I signed up for pioneer telephone long distance service I was thrilled to have such a reasonably priced service that was only billed for minutes used.
They offered 800 numbers as well. Great!
The only problem is they continued to bill my credit card for the 800 numbers on a disconnected number for 18 months!
I had contacted them after 3 months to discontinue billing the credit card and thinking that they were billing the card for my new number and changed the credit card info. I continued to receive bills from the first credit card company month after month. I kept calling the credit card company thinking they were making a mistake because when I would log into Pioneer telephone and check the account the old Credit card account wasn't even listed.
Well yesterday when I finally got someone on the phone who would look into my information far enough to discover their mistake they decided that they would offer me three months of credit, about $6.85 for their $36.50 mistake.
When i was first informed of the charges being made were for my old phone number I was told they were for taxes and fees. I couldn't understand why they would be paying taxes and fees on a disconnected number. Who would be requesting taxes and fees on a non-functioning number?
Well today when I called back to check on the progress of my case I was told that since I had mentioned that if they wouldn't make this situation right I might have to look into some legal action they told me they had withdrawn even the three months of credit. That I should be greatfull for their offer since it wasn't their mistake.
Then I found out it WASN't taxes and fees it was the 2 (800) numbers attached to the account that were being charged and that I should have transfered them to another number since I could have. And that it was my obligation to pay for them even though they had never been used and were obviously linked to the old non-working number.
