Do yourself aFAVOR and do not get your oil changed or have any automotive service done HERE. My 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe went in for a routine $ 19.99 oil change on a Saturday in January 2011. It came back to me on a Monday night at 9 pm. with a bill of over $ 1, 200.00. Here's what happened: Pitstop started the oil change, and consequently told me that I needed a rear differential service for $79.99. So I said ok. Then, they proceeded to inform me that my coolant hoses were leaking, and needed to be replaced as my coolant resouvoir was bone dry. They said they could do this for about $300.00. I did not have a regular mechanic, so I said ok to this too. My mistake-- After working on the vehicle, they told me that the connections to the hoses were rusted and broken. Pitstop could not put the hoses back on until they could get new connections for the hoses. So basically, there were no hoses in my care and the vehicle was not driveable.
Then, they claimed one of the coolant intake connections completely broke, and they would have to get a new intake part which was going to be $300.00 for that part alone and they had to order the part from the dealer. They said they ordered it on Saturday afternoon, and I was right at the Pitstop, I did not go home from the oil change. So next, Pitstop said they would put in the new intake connection part on the next day, which was a Sunday. That was a complete lie. They did not get the part until Monday afternoon, and I stayed at that place from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday night, as I made them stay and finish my vehicle. My total car bill came to over $ 1, 200.00 to get it out of the shop and drive it home. Pitstop did not acknowledge any wrongdoing or overcharging on their part, and I simply wanted my vehicle away from there before they did any more damage. The owner is greedy and actually asked me whether I needed a title loan for my car repairs. I did not, but the fact that he had that resource as one of his tools to help customers pay for their car repairs is beyond shady. The mechanics are told to find problems with vehicles, and get customers to pay more money for the repairs. I say again- go nowhere near this
