Membership cancellation
I attempted in person and over the phone to cancel my membership 3 times and it still was not done. On July 1st went into the location to cancel. I was told cannot cancel as I have a balance due of $31.64, even though I was on autodraft for $21.64 per month. They could not explain why I had a balance. I went home & paid the balance on the website of $31.64. I then called and talked to a girl at that location. She said she would follow up & once payment was showing on their side she would cancel my membership. The following week, I returned to the gym, the gentleman at the couter looked up my membership & said, yes its cancelled. On my credit card statement today shows a charge for $21.64. I went into the gym to advise I want a credit back to my card. They stated my membership was never cancelled. Unfortunately I did not have the names of the employees I spoke to. Today, I signed another cancellation letter & spoke with the manager Frank & he advised it will be cancelled but they will not credit me back any money. They still cannot explain why for July I had to pay $31.64 in order to cancel. Now they are billing me again for July. They owe me $53.28 & I still do not believe its cancelled & I am afraid they will send the account to collections.

Liberal Bias
Joined recently. Sat down on the bike and tried to tune in to TV. Looked up and saw CNN. So I looked for FOX News. Nothing. They have CNN and MSNBC (which is basically a loop of anti Republican and pro Obama propaganda).
So I asked why no FOX News and they said "we have FOX."
I said, "that's FOX local not FOX News." Then she said well they only carry one station per company (i.e. FOX News or FOX Broadcast). So the FOX channel is Judge Judy, Dr Phil, etc.
I asked why the so-called NBC channel was tuned into MSNBC and not local NBC, i.e. soap operas. And she finally admitted the owner is a Democrat and dos not like FOX News.
So they are cute they claim... 'Oh we have FOX...' But they don't. It's the local FOX channel.
And I am not requesting they remove CNN or MSNBC but give me a break. They have 12 TVs and they block the #1 news channel. Please. They show Lifetime, VH1, E!, Discovery, etc.
Seems weird that a company that slogans itself "no Judgement" yet is obviously very much so. Discriminating against a majority of the country that is not liberal.

unauthorised payment deductions
two years ago I took out a contract and since then I have had nothing but problems with them. From the very first deduction on my account till now. not once have they deducted the agreed monthly subscription as per the contract. I changed my bank account, gave them my new bank details both personally inbranch and then when i noticed no deductions were made I called the branch to give it again, and my third call was to their head office. after paying for the arears and getting my account with them up to date, I pleaded with them to start deducting the correct amount but instead they would charge me double. I sent the branch manager two emails to complain about he fact that i had to pay extra bank charges and that i was appauled by the poor customer service and todate have had no reply. Instead after a whole year of not receiving any invoices or statements they send me a statement and informs me on the statement that they are handing me over to debt collectors. they did not even have the decency to call me and speak to me personally. I think I have used their service maybe 4 times since joining - I am just too angry to set into the club. A month ago I paid the debt collections agency and they informed Planet Fitness head office to update my account, I personally requested their head office to send me an updated account and once again pleaded for them to debit the exact monthly subscription amount. I just checked my bank account and they charged way more AGAIN! Their were insufficient funds in my account because I only left enough in there for the monthly fee but now i have had to pay bank charges which is half my gym fee. It is Ridiculous!

Who may to concern:
I want to complain from Planet Fitness on 500 Neponset St, Dorchester MA. I had so bad experience as a customer with the service, especially with the manager on this location. This guy disrespect customers with imposing rules, Making customers do not feel this place comfortable. The manager has to be more friendly and flexible with the customers where the members understand the rules of a better way. Most people do not feel happy about the behavior of this manager because he likes to be imposed taking the members outside of gym what he’s recidivist doing it. Please try to do something to the change it. I can't recommend more people if customers are treated on this way. This manager feels that he is making a favor or charity works having us in this gym. I do not want to get upset anymore about the service of this manager because this is not the first time going to be treated on this way. Otherwise I will be in the position of looking other place where I feel welcome.

Needed to cancel Membership due to car accident
I initially purchased the membership to allow my son, 14, to work out. The employee who signed me up said that I could do my reading and studying for school while he was doing his work out, as long as I was in the building. I was hit by a car while riding my bike Feb. 18, 2011 and have not been able to take him to the gym. I went in this evening and asked if his brother could take my place working out since I obviously could not. I was told "No." So, then I asked if I could transfer the membership to his dad's name so he could work out. I was again told "No." The bottom line is, I was lied to when I signed up, the guy said I did not have to be working out too. Now she tells me that my son can not work out while I sit and read. She said the best that she can do is to freeze my account for four months. I told her that that is not fair to my son, and not what I was told in the beginning and I wanted my membership terminated without paying the fee since it was not my fault that I was hit by a car and she will not allow my husband to take over the membership so our son can work out. I do not feel that this is the appropriate action due to my circumstances. I want my membership canceled and do not feel that I should be charged the cancelation fee.

Rude & Insulting Manager
I have been an avid member of this gym for well over 3 years. I always thought the members and almost all of the employees are nice. However 2 days ago I went to tan after working out. After undressing I noticed someone had taken the phone from the room (direct line to front desk to request tanning time) so I called from my cell. The "acting" manager gave me a ton of attitude for calling the main #. I stood there and waited for the timer on the booth and got nothing. When I called again the same girl (Celina) told me if there wasnt a phone in the room THAT I MUST HAVE TAKEN IT. (WOW !) When I left I stopped at the desk and put my gym bag on it so Celina could be assured I didnt have the extension phone. She said something about her not saying that I stole and I cut her off and said "yes you did" and I left. The next day I returned to try to resolve the incident and Celina approached me and handed my a "Cancellation" slip and told me not to return. Former member (not a thief) 62701, Joe Labrecque

Not helped
I have been a guest of my boyfriend at this location for the last year. We live together so it fits our budget. We have never had any problems there until last week. We have even convinced our friends to join also. We went to leave and a car was parked approx. 6 inches from my driver's door. Keep in mind i am trying to go home to get my child off the bus. I went back inside and asked the girl at the desk if she could make an announcement to have the person move their vehicle and she replied "sorry we do that type of thing here." She then went and got the assistant manager who then preceded to tell me that the parking lot has nothing to do with them and they couldnt help me. So i went over to the rail and said"Does anyone own a white taurus?" A lady raised her hand. I then said "Could you please move it? You are parked like an idiot and are blocking me in." Yes i was very frustrated at this point!!! She then came out and backed to a different spot coming real close to hitting my vehicle. When i returned to this location i was told i was banned from all Planet Fitness locations due to bad behavior. SERIOUSLY????? How about if the assistant manager would have done his job, i wouldnt have gotten irratated and angry enough to say that???? Now i am trying to find out a way of contacting the GM because i would like to discuss this with him or her but i guess its a big secret! I would take any help with fixing this situation because i dont think it was handled properly!!!
