Rude Staff
Planet Fitness has the rudest staff. I had to pay an extra $20 for no fault of mine. I had closed my checking account which was originally on their paperwork. I had let know the staff about it and paid in advance one months member fee. Inspite of asking time and again about the member fee whenever it was due from the front desk staff I was not informed about it until they had gathered two late fee on the account. Their manager, the rudest staff member of all, tells me that its not their duty to tell everyone and the billing is collected by some other company. He would not even call his employee so that we all can talk in front of each other. He was acting as a dictator and would not listen to me at all. Beware of the rude staff and rip off from PlanetFitness.

rude people working there
i just joined the new 1 in Blackwood Clementon but have been going 2 the one in Cherryhill till mine opens.
yesterday i went n worked out n decided 2 use the tanning booth the girl named christina at the counter was very rude 2 me.. three people tanned before me without having eye protection i didn't have mine with me so she said i would have 2 buy something i told her that it was bullshit i have used it 4 other times n no 1 asked me that i mean i do have eye protection but it was at home which was a far drive. i did buy the winkies n she threw them at me n the card 2 stick on the door. when i was finished i talked 2 the manager he was just as rude as her. listen if this is the kinda of service you are gonna offer i will cancel my membership n join 1 who treats u with respect.
you need 2 hire better people 2 work there not young kids who have no manners. i would like 2 hear a response from you

Terminated Membership
A employee, Jennifer, was Very rude to me and a guest on the first visit to the gym and then when I made a complaint to the Manager, Sara, she said "Well theres 2 sides to every story"...and left it that way.
And continued to present attitude to me and my guest. So I contacted the so called "Owners" which were 2 old men who seem like they have NEVER ran a business before. And they said Oh well we believe our staff does nothing wrong so they are allowed to harass you and make you feel uncomfortable in our "NO JUDGEMENT ZONE"
Oh and their No Judgement Zone is so FAKE...This is a marketing method to attract people to buy into this gym hoping they are too lazy to come to the gym but still pay monthly.
They forced my membership and gave me no reason of why they revoked it...only to say WE CAN CANCEL WHOEVER WE WANT at anytime. So be careful...You to can be cancelled with no reason given.

Cleaning equipment in use
I was running on the treadmill at my local Planet Fitness. As I was running, an associate began cleaning the treadmill that I was running on with a Big Bird Yellow cloth. She was using it as a duster, and the cloth went on to the running portion of the treadmill causing me to short step and fall forward on the treadmill. I grabbed the side and held on until I could I could pull the stop button. My shoes were squealing on the rubber due to this incident and people in the gym were staring. The associate was laughing when she asked me if I was okay. I angrily responded NO!!! I demanded the number for the corporate office and they gave me a business card for the general manager. I wrote the corporate office an e mail in which I still haven't received a response. The general manager did call back around 6:45 p.m. the next day, I guess they had such a backlog of complaints that it took them all day to contact me. They are absolute classless pricks in every sense of the word. I WILL NEVER set foot inside another Planet Fitness again. I am canceling the membership tomorrow morning. $10 a month is $9.99 more than it's worth.

equipment not maintained
The Woburn, Ma 01801, sight is relatively new but the equipment is not maintained. the machines vibrat, stick and squeek, the TV plug or connection does not work on some of the equipment so there are no diversions while you are working out to help pass the time. The people that sweat the most are the most likely not to wipe down the equipment after use. nothing is said to them. the above items if addressed would be a very positive direction for the club and make the experience more palatable. exercise for the most part can be boring so anything you can do to improve the facililty or maintain the facility is benificial to all.
Hope you accept this advice in a positive mannor and not as a slam to planet fitness since it is a great concept.

compounding charges
Beware of this club!!! They are very vindictive. They first signed my son up without my permission, then 4 months later told me I had to sign a form for him or he would be in trouble. Unfortunately I did but it was in fact them that would have been in trouble. We went to cancel on April 1st and were told to pay 250 to cancel I said, absolutely not, and they said they would continue to charge my card. I quickly cancelled that card but the charges are still compiling. WOW what a crock. They know they were in the wrong but, they will not admit it and are now calling my minor sons cell phone and harrassing him. Amazing people. I am glad I found out who they are before I joined myself.

Immature employees
I have been a member at planet fitness for a very long time, and do enjoy working out there, except the last few times i have been there, one of the employees a tall long brown haired girl, i believe her name is britney, she has been hanging all over one of the trainers in a red shirt, he is a short young man... what upset me the most was she kept repeatedly grabbing at his man private area, this young lady is supposed to be at work, she does this type of actions every time i see her... i wouldn't want her representing my company's name... she seems very immature. i do not want to see those actions while i am working out...

Rude Manager
My friend has the Black Card membership.We have been goign strong almost everyday for 2 months. Our first day at the the manager request that i fill out the guest membership book completely.My friend and the manager then get in an agruement. She made it known that if he is requesting this of me, then he should do it on a consistant basis.
My friend and the manager have a second arguement.But before this the manger would say things to my friend like"Are you still mad with me", or when we would leave the gym after our workout he would make an extra effort to say "bye ladies". My friend ignored him.
My Friend was showing someone how to use the 30 minute circuit training..hmm then who comes along yes..MR MANAGER. He proceeds to harass my friend and she holds it together and ignores him.
The third and final time we are stretching in "A NO STRETCHING ZONE" and the manager ask us to go upstairs. I say ok and my friend says lets go upstairs to stretch. The manager comes back and ask my firned what was the comment that she made. My friend told him what she said. The manager assumed she was talking about him. He then says that he is tired of her and cancels her memebership.wow.
She has sent two emails to planet fitness with no response. This happened 7/8/08.
I called the yonkers New York planet fitness manager for the coporate number, and didn't receive any assistance from them.
My friend and I are two strong individuals, with that said "to be continued"

Bad service and terrible policies
After additional fees appeared on my bank statement I called to inquire. I was treated so disrespectfully that I was shocked. This company can send me emails daily about upgrades and getting friends and family to join, but doesn't notify me of an additional charge, then berates me for asking about it. When I asked if they cared about what a bad customer service experience I had, they said, "No, you'll cancel and pay us $58 to do it."
Don't allow gyms to take advantage of you like this. The automatic deductions are not worth it. These companies make it so hard to cancel, and are so awful to deal with. The only way the bank can help me is to have my account close and reopened.
Never again.

Memebership
I will be calling all the local news channels to see who will come out to cover this story.
I joined a world gym in franklin mass, last month, paid 140.00 for sign up and 40.00 for the first month for me and my husband. I joined the gym for the classes and the day care.
On the first of the next month they changed the gym to planet fitness, keep in mind they are the same owners. The took the classes away and the day care. When I called for a refund they refused. My attorney is writting a letter as of Saturday and I will start to call the owners every day until I get my refund. They had over 300 members cancel and alot of locals not happy with them at all.
Just out of co-insidence they took out of everyone's debit or credit cards on the 1st of the month and put the new name up on the 2nd of the month. Taking everything out of the gym by the end of the week.
They are the biggest pigs I know.
They started a world storm with me.
This is just the beginning.
It's not the money, it's the principle
