terms
I've been a member of planet fitness for five years. And have never had a problem. I have no complaints about the club. If you follow the simple rules and terms that you sign for in the first place there shouldn't be an issue. Billing is easy, it's drafted the 17 of each month( keep money in there), change your billing if you get a new card by the 10 of the month ( which is the members responsibility and states so on the agreement. If your draft doesn't go through there's a 10.00 service fee, and thats cheap compared to gyms like golds. There's an annual fee once a year. It also states monthly drafts aren't based on usage and you need to give thirty days notice for cx with a certified letter or come in and sign a cx form. I just don't get how anyone could
have such problems if they read what they sign... All that i am saying is it's a cheap gym. It's simple and basic and if you want more training and better equiptment you have to shell out
the money and find a health club that offers what you need. Cancel your membership and move on.

Very poor service
Went to Planet Fitness because of there low cost. What a mistake!! I sure am glad that here in Clearwater, Fl. there are alot of BETTER places.
The equipment is low end and the staff is even lower. When they could not put my membership dues thru it was always my fault or the banks.
Yet every month I would prove to them that the money was there and gave them the number of the bank to verify everything, but of course they wouldn't. Then on top of all this they want to charge you a late fee!!!
The staff there are nothing but clerks that are of no help at all on anything.
All I can say is every time something goes wrong it is always your fault and they want to charge you a fee. Now I know why they can charge $10.00 per month. If you don't mind dealing with a bunch of kids at the front desk that don't have a clue!!! go ahead, as for me NO THANKS!!!

Unauthorized charge to a new card
ONCE YOUR IN YOUR IN I SWEAR ITS LIKE BEING IN A MOFIA OR SOMETHING! After telling them that I wanted to cancel my membership due to non-agreeable pymts being taken out, I canceled my debit card and ordered a new one to ensure no more charges would be taken out of my account. But little did I know they were "professional hackers"! because somehow they got my new card information, i didn't give it to them and I don't use my card online just to make sure that no one can get my information. Well it didn't work. These people are thieves! And don't even try corporate because "they have no information for your billing". These people have found some type of loop hole in scamming people and getting away with it. Have you read some of these complaints, OMG! How are they still in buisness???????????? This makes no sense! I have a feeling This is only the beginning for me but I am not one to take it laying down, I will go to the police to file a report as well as channel 9 news. Payment issues
To whom it may concern:
I bought over a contract of a lady which expires in 2011, I did this at the Planet Fitness branch at Douglasedale branch, Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa. (I paid transfer costs of about R300)
The in 2008 they started deducting money from my account, which I did not give permission for them to do, I went to see the Branch, after 3 months still I get no feedback, I go back make a scene, see the branch manager, the money is paid back into my account.
Then after a few months in 2009 the same thing happens and I go through the same trouble and I received some payments back, I do understand that I need to pay a small yearly fee.
Now a few months in a row the same thing is happening again.
Can someone please sort out this issue once and for all and pay the money back into My Account.

Bad service
PLANET FITNESS, QUESTIONED ON THEIR TRUSTWORTHYNESS AND INTEGRITY IN THEIR CONDUCT OF BUSINESS PRACTICED
We must all firstly, question ANY merchant or order of business, when they oblige an individual/consumer,
to give up ACCESS to their accounts to pay for the service, services offered, including an individuals ID, IDENTITY and PRIVACY. If an individual can not pay for a service offered by their own WILL with CASH, and without sacrificing privacy, security and their own identity, and the right NOT to enter the BINDING of CONTRACTS for services offered, should people NOT question the trustworthyness of that Merhcant/Establishments method of the business practiced?
It is the GOOD WIll of a GOOD AND NOTABLE business to EARN the trust of the people of its community, and cater to those people of what is BEST in those particular peoples interest. and then perhaps the business shall be worthy of the business of those people.
Always keep in mind, "without the customer, the business cannot stay in business".
People should ALWAYS question what must be given up of themselves to obtain a service offered to them. If it requires more than of your own money, is it WORTH it?

african Americans can not wear a scarf
I been going to planet fitness for 2 week at this time i been wearing a scarf. This day was a Sat. i was told that i could not wear a scarf i said i been wearing a scarf so i did not take it off. I came for a week after that i did not wear my scarf. Today (Mon.) i came in to planet fitness it have been raining in i have bad hair day Eillen ask me to take a picture i ask could i take it tomorrow she said no and that i could not workout to i take my picture i said i cant take it tomorrow no because you did not want to take it before. I was so upset i left.

over booked
I used to go to Planet Fitness 4 to 6 times a week. I have been a regular member for about a year. The New Years brought on way too many new members. You have to wait on every piece of equipment now and some of the equipment that there is only one of... are broken. Planet Fitness has no way to submit complaints online. This company should be aware that the Williamsport Franchise has over booked new members by at least 40% and that I'm sure there are zoning laws or local ordinances about too many people being in this gym at the same time.

over crowding- dirty/filthy gym
this gym has to many people registered as members and it has caused the gym to be become filthy & overcrowded...when it first opened in feb.'08, the small staff was cleaning the equipment and sweeping/mopping the floor in a diligent manner and cleaning had constant attention, now it has become just another "gym"...the bathroom/locker area is dirty, cleaning is to a minimum and equipment is not maintened properly, that is, dirty and broken!...also on sunday, jan. 17, 2010...my vehicle was broken into while parked at the site and my insurance company notified me that 25% of all break-ins reported, have been at a "gym" location...it appears some of these same people using the the facilities to enhance their health are also using their "muscle" to cause harm and violation to other members!!!...be-aware!!!...member#0627

IN MARCH OF 2008 MY BROTHER IN LAW PAST AWAY ...MY SISTER IS LEAVING IN TEANECK...I MOVED IN WITH HER TO HELP HER PAY AND HOLD ON TO HER APARTMENT... I WROTE A LETTER TO PLANET FITNESS AND TOLD THEM THE STORY ...THE ONLY THING I GOT FROM THEM IS MORE LETTERS HOW MUCH I OWE ...I CALLED THEM AND I WAS TOLD TO WRITE A LETTER SO I DID ..THE ONLY THING I CONTUE TO GET WAS BILLS IM SO SICK AND TIRED AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO...THANK YOU JUDD
