Lies, lies, lies
I placed an order over the phone after seeing a rollator walker on their website. That was August 1, 2009. On the 5th the money ($193) was taken out of my account. After reading all the other complaints on the internet, I know this seems like small potatoes. But to me it is very needed money.
I waited for a couple of weeks and called Planet Mobility. I was told she would call back with a tracking number. No call. No tracking number. I called again on August 20th. I was told that they do not do business with that company any more and wanted to send me another rollator. It was a cheaper one and do not match the weight limit I needed and weighed more, which would be hard for me to lift in and out of the car. I told her, "No thanks, I wanted my money back." She said my account would be credited immediately.
I could not believe I watched for 3 weeks for a delivery of a rollater walker that was never sent. Nor did I get a phone call to inform me. I placed and repaid the order with Piperco.com and Evan, the owner, sent it out immediately! Great company.
So now it is September 8th, 2009. They still have my money and all information on my debit card. I have called 866 465-4387 and 586 247 8900 about 50 times. Always busy, like the phone is off the hook. After hours, it rings and goes to an answering machine. But then a message comes on that says the machine is full.
I am getting ready to call Mike Woods on his private line that I received on this site. ..586 685 3037. I know he lies, sends NFS checks and makes false promises. I don't know how to get my money back!!
NEVER GIVE THEM A DIME!!!

Horrendous customer service
I purchased a used Lexus Light. Oh, it looked so great! The previous owner had allowed the batteries to drain, they won't take a charge. I ordered replacement batteries, and my credit card was charged, in the middle of August.I'm writing this on September 13th. 3 weeks ago I was told the batteries were shipping to me.2 weeks ago I was told that was in error and that they were waiting on delivery from the warehouse. Yesterday I was told that the batteries were shipping and that i would receive a tracking number by this morning.Needless to say, that didn't happen. I can't find those batteries anywhere else!

Ripping off the disabled
In January 2009 I purchased a pool/spa lift for my quadriplegic husband for $5653. I ordered by phone through Planet Mobility and told it would be delivered in 3-6 weeks. After 4 weeks I called to check on the order and was told that there was a delay with the manufacturer and it would be delivered within 2 weeks. Called again and again told it was the manufacturer causing the delay. A couple weeks later I was told that the manufacturer wasn't returning their calls anymore and they were working on it. Finally I said I just wanted my money back so that I could try to get another lift as my husband really needs the therapy. By the way everytime I called I was told that the owner, Michael Woods, was unavailable and he never returned any of the numerous messages that were supposedly left for him. The last time I finally got nasty about them returning my money and got a man named Dale on the phone who said he was the CFO. He said he would have my credit card reimbursed immediately. Later that evening Michael Woods called begging me to give them another chance to get the lift. I told him no, that I was feeling uncomfortable with the situation and just wanted my money back, he said okay he would credit my account. I then decided to contact the manufacturer myself because something seemed fishy. The manufacturer had my order, but never received the necessary specs on the pool and spa that is required for this item (I was never asked for any info from Planet Mobility). I was also told that they had never rec'd payment for this item, at this point it was approximately 3 months after I ordered. They also said that this company has ordered several of this same lift some recently and had no problems with getting the info or payment. So now I was really confused as to what the problem really was. I tried contacting Michael Woods again and was brushed off for a few weeks with no return calls so I filed a report with the BBB...low and behold I received a call from Mr. Woods within a couple of days. He said there was some problem with their credit card company and had to send me checks instead of crediting my account. And once again tried to convence me to give them another chance and even offered me anything I wanted free from their site. I said I just wanted my money back. Of course nothing happened, no checks, no credits nothing but a bunch of run around and excuses. I finally asked my father to contact them as he is an experienced paralegal and knows the laws regarding this type of thing. They have now given him every BS excuse in the book; the checks went out, oh no here they are sitting on a desk sorry we will overnight them...still no checks...we don't know what happened we will send certified checks overnight...oh oops don't know what happened. Finally got 2 checks (not certified) and was asked to cash one immediately and hold one for a couple of days. Well wouldn't you know when I went to THEIR bank to verify funds...there was no money to cover either check! So got more BS runaround like "someone must be writing checks that we don't know about" yeah right!. Also Mr. Woods called again to profusely apologize and offer me something free from their website, I told him I wanted my money first then we can talk about that. Finally got one check cashed which by the way their bank (B of A) refused to cash even though they verified the money was there...funny, huh. Two weeks later was told to cash the other check and GUESS WHAT it bounced!!! So that is where we are now in July...still trying to get the last $3000 back, my husband is still without desperately needed therapy and I am at my wits end with the lies, excuses and sheer lack of care or concern. Mr. Woods even tried to play the pity card and say how he is paralized and only wants to help disabled people...I bet he has the equipment he needs...

unreliable service
I ordered a wheelchair lift for $3700.00 in December 2008. My credit card was charged shortly after that date. I was originally told delivery should take 4 weeks. In January 2009 I called to check on delivery and at that time I was told delivery would take 8 weeks. In Febuary when the lift still had not been delivered I called again and was told I would have to speak to Mike Woods. When I called Mr. Woods he assured me that I would have the lift within the next week or two. When the lift again did not I arrive I called Mr. Woods again. Each time I called he would guarentee delivery within the next week. I spoke with Mr. Woods at least 4 times yet the lift never arrived. One time I was given a traking number but when I called the shipping company no such traking number existed. I finally got the number of the company that actually manufactures the lift. I was told by them that planet mobility was way behind on their payments to the company and they would not ship out any futher lifts until they received payment in advance from planet mobilty. When I called Mike Woods again and threated to have my lawyer get involved, I finally received my lift 4 months after I ordered and payed for it.
I would NEVER do business with planet mobility again and would strongly advise everyone to stay for away from this company.

Never recieved a mobility scooter I was charged for.
I purchased a mobility scooter in Jan 2008 on line.
After being charged for a Pride Go Go scooter on my credit card. I am still waiting to receive it.(it is now the middle of march 2009). I have called upwards of 15 documented times. I have a E-mail from there owner Michael woods stating it would be delivered on Feb 17, 2009, still no scooter.
The company puts you on hold, They promise some one will return your call. It is one excuse after another
with this company . They have to wait for there shipping girl to come in, or there computer system is down, or there waiting for a shipment from California.
I am only sorry that my Father who I purchased it for has past away and never got to use it.
Hopefully Ill see it in my life time.
I will never use there company again and strongly
suggest you buy your products from a company who will deliver on there promises.
I have contacted the channel 2 problem solvers who I hope will do a story on this company.

Terrible service
Let's see now. On my 79 year old father's behalf, I called this company after he got two weeks use of his new $2, 400 scooter in the spring before it broke. Still being under the warranty, I figured this should be easy enough---wrong! After calling an endless amount of times the first month and put 'On Hold' for hours, not minutes now, hours, they finally sent a service man. Service man orders the part. Simple enough, right, wrong! Part is coming from California, more like China. Said it would be 3 weeks. Three weeks later, no part.
I called Planet Mobility to inquire as to where part was, who immediately put me 'on hold'--surprise. Owner, Michael Woods, was my customer rep who said he had to order part. Told him the part was already ordered put never received. His reply, 'Oh, I must have missed that.' Puts me on hold for half hour. I hung up and called back and lady puts me on hold again. I hung up again and called back, and before the lady could put me on hold I told her 'no, wait' and said you already had me on hold and Michael forgot to get back to me. Meanwhile, I could hear Michael Woods in the background saying, please hold to other calls he picked up on.
I pleaded with someone to talk to me to tell me what is going on and why my father hasn't gotten his part yet. I told them that this is not right to make him wait so long as this was his only Freedom. They sent him a cheap inferior loaner scooter in the meantime, which was useless outside his driveway for fear the small battery capacity would cease, not to mention, had no safety tip wheels and place for my father's oxygen.
Anyway, after a total of 2 1/2 hours on the phone and a party conversation with the California plant and the PM customer rep, I asked for his money back. They said they could not do that. I also asked for a warranty extension telling them what good is a warranty if you don't have use of the product while the warranty is in affect. The outcome was the part was promised for that following Monday.
Monday came and my Dad receives from Fedex, a seat part for a lady who lives in the midwest. My father lives in the Northeast who is waiting for a complete control panel.
My father called Planet Mobility and after being put 'on hold' they told him that the part is coming from California and would be there in another 3 to 4 days. A week passed and my father called yet again and after being put 'on Hold' as usual was told he would get the part in 3 1/2 weeks--taking it to the end of July. Now, I called, upon hearing that empty promise once again and to this date, July 3, 2008, they have now promised that the part is being shipped express delivery on Monday, July 7. I told my Dad, let's not hold our breath in the meantime.
Attempts to move these people to be responsible: Filed a Claim with with the Michigan Attorney General online--no response yet. Filed a Claim also with the NYS Attorney General Office--no response as of yet.
So, the saga still continues... I warn others to think twice before doing business with these people unless you have endless amount of hours to spend on the phone listening to a tape recording telling you how Planet Mobility will meet, if not exceed, your needs... if you need nothing maybe!
