Caused Huge $$$ Damage to my Boat
I purchased a Crownline 270 BR for 75K and drove it from the showroom to Unpleasant, I mean Pleasant Harbor Marina for storage in indoor dry stack.

After taking a a short ride in our new boat we turned the boat over to the staff to put away. This was a brand new boat with less than one hour on it when we turned it over to Brandon at Pleasant Harbor Marina - to be taken to their indoor dry stack storage facility. The boat was flawlessly beautiful and smelled like a new car.

I had a back problem and didn't return to the marina for a while.

Upon returning to PH dry stack to take the boat out the staff could not find it for 2 1/2 hours. They finally located our boat parked uncovered in an outdoor parking lot. The sun and rain did significant damage to the boat. The whole interior needed replacing. The steering wheel and windshield were warped, etc., etc. I spent $15, 000.00 to have my boat fixed. It took 9 months for Crownline to make the new interior and supply the parts that needed replacing. This was 9 months of loss of use. When the boat was finally done being repaired it was off season. The only time we have had on this very expensive boat was the one hour before Pleasant Harbor Marina lost it.

Pleasant Harbor Marina refuses to take any responsibility. We filed a lawsuit. We had been trying since last year to take the depositions of the various PH employees that we know played a role in what happened to our boat. We have not been getting any cooperation. We are told that said employee no longer works there, no longer lives in the state of Arizona, etc. High employee turn over speaks volumes to me about PH.

Just last week we were finally able to take the deposition of 2 of the individuals associated with PH and our lost and damaged boat.

The story that the marina wrote in their disclosure as to what happened to our boat is outrageous. The two depositions that we were able to get thus far are equally ridiculous. I cannot fully share the details of this matter in a short version on a complaints board. I am in process of writing a website detailing this situation because I think anyone thinking of storing a boat at Pleasant Harbor Marina needs to read this story. The thought of turning over a 27 foot brand new boat, paying PH a hefty monthly fee to store it and then coming back to learn it was lost and then found in a very deteriorated condition is inexcusable. I would not want anyone else that has given their boat to Pleasant Harbor Marina to ever experience what we have.

At the conclusion of our litigation with Pleasant Harbor Marina I will be publishing a very detailed website starting from the loss of our boat right through the jury verdict.

I have read many other complaints about this marina on the Internet including another damage complaint. Obviously we are not the first people to have our boat damaged by PH and I know we will not be the last. Here is one such complaint from Yahoo reviews: "By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/09 With regard to moorage, I'd give them a fair rating. They damaged my boat propeller during launch / retrieval beyond repair and showed no interest sorting the issue out. I had to eat it."

There is a second marina now in operation at Lake Pleasant - Scorpion Bay Marina. I have heard and read nothing but good things about their staff and facility. I also found it very interesting that Pleasant Harbor spent 2 years in a legal battle trying to stop the opening of this marina as reported by azcentral.com and many other media outlets. Perhaps they realized that when they are the only game in town they can give substandard services and how that would change if they had some competition?

I also found it very interesting that we have been trying to pin down a deposition date for Taylor Yancey (assistand marina manager)- one of the people that we had dealt with during the course of our issues with Pleasant Harbor and couldn't get a deposition date. I recently saw in a story about Scorpion Bay Marina that Mr. Yancey is now a manager there. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. Will he run Scoprion Bay Marina in the same fashion he ran PH, or did he not like the way things were run at PH. We also dealt with a manager at PH named Dan. PH would not and has not given us his last name. I would suggest getting a first and last name of anyone you deal with at PH in the event they cause some harm to you. The person that physically took our boat away the day it was lost would not tell me his name so I had to snap a picture of him with my cell phone. The Pleasant Harbor Marina Manage Steve Bodas refused to ever return our calls. If you ever have a problem at PH marina know that if you want to speak to the top person in charge there that would be Steve Bodas and if things go as they did with us, you will never get to speak to him.

Based on my experience with Pleasant Harbor Marina and the many complaints that I have read about them I would recommend NOT doing business with them.

Since I only owned my new boat for less than 48 hours before I turned it over to PH we did not take any pictures of our new beautiful boat. Attached is a picture of another brand new Crownline 2700 BR. Also attached is a picture of the seat of our boat to show how filth was baked into it. Filth that would NOT come off. The interior was also bleached of it's color. Attached is a picture to show the filth and spider webs that not only covered the entire interior of the boat but also all of the compartments.
