Called for a toilet that would not flush, a problem that reoccurred about twice a year on this property and was easily cleared up with a rooter service. I was out of town and my elderly mother called this plumber not knowing my regular routine. Normally I paid about $45.00 at the time for an independant. She called Kevin Shaw Plumbing who charged for sending an extra long router line for a charge of $300. That length would have gone into the street to the main line and down the street several feet. They claimed that did not clear it so they, without asking, the claimed they had to sent down a camera line for another $350. Then then called my mother again to say they would have to dig up the line in my front yard for a cost of another $600. She said no. Therefore, whe was charged $650 and the toilet still would not flush. She called another plumber who sent down a normal length router line which cleared the line ant the toilet would then flush. They charged more than $45.00 but certainly nothing like $650! I later talked to an inspector in the Monrovia Building dept. who said this was a common complaint about Kevin Shaw.
