Unauthorize Charges
I am not sure how these individuals got my credit card information however I noticed that I had this odd charge t omy credit card and after further checking this has been going on since MAY 2008 and they apologize for this and tell me that due to the terms and conditions of something I know nothing about I am not entitled to a refund past the one I finally caught. If times aren't hard enough you then have this crap happening!!! It sucks and has really upset me. The Better Business Bureau needs to shut these folks down! From all of the complaints I have seen they are getting people left and right and due to some terms and conditions that no one is aware of they are having a field day with banks accounts and credit cards!!!
The attached email has been sent:
Good Afternoon,
I am writing to file a complaint against a company called PMIdenity, Inc., which has an address of 946 W 630 S #48 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. It appears that this company has been obtaining bank information as well as credit card information, mine specifically, and unauthorized charges are being charged. I noticed a strange charge on my credit card statement in early May, I called the number and they apologized, said I had ordered something on the internet and had agreed to their terms and conditions, certainly don't recall this, and since May of 2008 has been charging my credit card account. I called to further inquiry and the best they could do was apologize, totally unacceptable! To date they have charged approximately $240 to my credit card account and with the added interest this is creating has made this even more. This is so disheartening as many of us try hard not to get caught up in these scams and it happens anyway. I googled this company and there are numerous complaints concerning unauthorized charges to many and seems that there is nothing that can be done about this. It appears that PMIdenity is associated with, Adaptive Marketing LLC, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut. The many complaints concerning PMIdenity can be viewed at: PMIdentity.com Complaints. Its a shame when you as a consumer have good intentions and then you get taken advantage of by these types of companies.
I have included the email of the Attorney General in Connecticut as well as I am not sure what can be done to stop this however I would sure like someone to look into this as they are burying the refund information in a book of terms and conditions when this information should be posted in a manner where it can be seen immediately as I'm guarantee this will deter anyone from searching for anyone, checking their credit etc.!!! I am totally outraged by this and get tired of these types of companies taking advantage of people.
