Gary Gottesfeld
Gary is supposed to be a Mortgage "Professional". He claims that he has never written so many mortgages in his career, as he has in the last two months. My opinion is that every client should be treated equally, especially first time home buyers. Gary screwed around, made multiple errors, and has caused hardships, all because he either A. Does Not Care, B. Is Completely Incompetent, or C. Does Not Perform Well Under Pressure. Unfortunately for people looking to buy a home, any one of these horrible characteristics that Gary possesses is enough to keep your mortgage from going through. Maybe Gary should get into another line of work, like Basket Weaving or Crocheting, which does have such difficult time demands, and where mistakes can be made without serious repercussions. If Gary concentrated half as hard on writing mortgages, as he does making sure that fancy bow tie is just right, he would not be receiving complaints on this site, everyday, for the next 6-8 weeks.
Cheers Gary, you are one of kind!

Poor service
PNC has the worst custermer service I have ever seen. They practically stole $900 out of my accounts and then told us too bad later. They said we could have worked out payments if only we had spoke to them only TEN minutes before when they called us from an unlisted number. I have spent weeks and weeks not getting talked to by them. I get passed around the corporate departments because its no ones problem. I can not get called back. The people at the branch tried very hard to help me but were also ignored by corporate. The ironic part is they took the money out of my accounts unannounced on the same day I had gone into the branch to make arrangements to pay this off. I went into the branch first thing in the morning and they took the money out that evening after the branch told me to wait a couple days while they looked into it for me!
Here is a letter I wrote them that gives more details... I am sure that will also not get a response.
To whoever it concerns if indeed anyone at your Big PNC bank is actually concered,
I am frusterated and fed up with dealing with you. We had an issue with fees for our line of credit when we paid it off and closed it. I am no longer in contention of the amout owed or what for. It did take us a while to sort that out. Then my husband was off work for a few weeks over the fall season. This is not normal for us and it really set us behind for the first time in 11 years.
Here is the ironic part. I went into the branch on Mon. Jan 5th to take care of this matter. (The ladies I have worked with at the branch have been more than kind and helpful thru all this, they are really the only ones who have, and apperantly they can not do anything. In fact they were ignored by corporate also. Nice. ) They sent me home and told me they would look into it and get back to me. They called me that very afternoon to let me know I should wait a couple days, they would look into it and that I should be hearing from someone reguarding mortgages also. When she opened my account on the computer it did not appear to be in collections only that I had a home equity with a balance.
I went into the branch because whenever I have delt with the people on the phone I have to talk to the computer lady then I finally get a real person and I get passed around or it just gets confusing. I prefer to deal face to face.
Later that same monday after I spoke with my branch again I got a letter in the mail stating I had 5 days to deal with this or there could be other action. (since I had just left the branch I thought I was heading the right direction). Then that same night I paid bills online, and shortly after most of the owed funds were yanked out of my account with no notice. This of course over drew my accout. When my husband called he was informed someone called 10min beofore to offer us a payment plan but he did not speak with them because it came up unknown instead of PNC on the caller id.
(Here is yet another way this is rediculous!! As I sat in the branch the next day I saw an add on her desk with a little guy saying... "if it is going to happen in your account tomorrow you will know today" HA!!
We spoke to a couple people in the collections dept. Tiffany was very very nice and tried to be helpful, her mangager Karen was rude, unkind and terrible to deal with. One of the following days my husband called Tiffany with a couple questioons reguarding this account and she told him she would call him back. When she did call him back she had a very short message from her manager that he was not to call there anymore. I have also been informed by Karen that she is not resposible for taking money that wasn't there or for any of the resulting fees. Not her problem.
I have talked to anyone I can, been passed around at all the departments on the phone for HOURS and never reach anyone who can help me in anyway. NO ONE calls me back reguarding this.(except the ladies from my branch) I even finally got to speak to Karens manager and he told me he would look into it and call me back-that was last tuesday.
I can not afford to have $900 taken from my account all due to poor comunications with in your company. We are also behind on our mortgage due to the period of reduced work we went thru. I now have a new job and my husband is working regular. I came in to take care of this and this is how I get treated? I was supposed to make a mortgage payment and had bills to go out. I came there to make arrangements with you that were reasonable. This is not reasonable or manageable. I was looking to recoup part of the money taken and have the fees waved. Once we are current I wanted to make payments to pay off the rest of the balance. If there is nothing that can be worked out and comunication with your company remains this impossible you can just leave my account in the rear and eat the fees I am done with this nonsense I have never seen a large company with such poor comunication between its parts and who treats its clients so poorly.
If the ladies at the branch who helped me had only been able to see it was not an open account and that they could not help me, if they had then known to tell me to come home and call the collections department this could all have been avoided. They then tried to help me reach someone highter up who may have the ability to help me out and were ignored for their efforts. Good to see you treat the employees as well as the clients. This is the most rediculous situation I have ever been in. My husband and I have previously always paid all our bills. I went in to resolve an issue and was slapped with this the same day.
THANK YOU!!

Poor customer treatment
On 17 July I mistakenly overdrew my account due to an error in calculations. This was a mistake on my part and I immediately deposited funds into my account once I discovered my error, and brought the account up to date a day later. I subsequently contacted PNC and admitted my error, requesting that they refund all or some of the over $180 they had charged me in fees. Aside from the fact that the fees were so high, my experience with banks is that they refund such fees if the account is brought up to date and if overdrawing funds is not habitual. However, PNC refused to do this, even though I have banked with them for well over two years and have been in good standing. I understand that I made a mistake and who doesn't? Under the circumstances I expected PNC to show understanding and provide concessions to me as a customer, but they didn't. This is despite all the money they make off of us--the customers. Instead, they gave me the run around and provided me with numbers that connected me to representatives that gave me the same response: NO!! I am leaving this bank and encouraging as many friends and family members to do so. I understand the need for banks to make money, but I also understand the need for them to be human! Before you consider opening an account with this bank, please do your research. Many other banks are sensitive to human error and will afford you the type of concessions that PNC denied me.
