Another amazingly dissatisfied customer
If I wanted my stuff hijacked and then sold back to me at exorbitant prices, I would have signed up the mob to help with my move. But seriously, I, like many others here, was the victim of the old 'bait and switch' routine with PODS. They quoted me one price for a simple move, then somehow botched it up, meanwhile charging me double (and billing it to my credit card) than the initial quoted price. Which I paid, seeing as how I wanted my belongings.
I wish I had read more reviews on here and sites like podsripoff.com . It would saved me a ton of hassle and time arguing with lunatics in their 'platinum' customer service center. Mover beware.

These folks have no customer service skills
These folks have no customer service skills. They are less than honest. If you book on line, they ask you what time you want your POD deliver but they do not honor the time. I was told that they could not give me an Estimated Time of Arrival. It is a total lack of understanding that you have movers waiting for this darn thing. Trust me...pay a vanline.

The coordination between the central PODS company located in Florida and their contractors is very poor
The coordination between the central PODS company located in Florida and their contractors is very poor. It takes "logistics" way too long to move PODS from one operator to another, and you cannot find out what time your POD is arriving until the night before. The system shows a total disregard for a person trying to coordinate movers and a move in general. The POD units are not structurally sound and cause breakage during transit. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Pass it along!!

This is not the type of company I want to work with or customer service I expect
A rainstorm caused $3, 500 in damage to my items stored in my POD I had on my streed in front of my home. I had purchased in insurance with PODS, but when I filed my claim with the company, they wrote me back and let me know they do not cover natural disasters.
This is not the type of company I want to work with or customer service I expect.

Total scam with tons of hidden charges!
Well this great experience started by using their extremely user friendly website, where i requested a quote to deliver, pick up, store for two months, and then redeliver my belongings to my new home. The quote i got back was $339.30, not to bad right? Well the pack and store all seemed to go well untill today i call to have my POD delivered to my new house. I get on the phone with some guy in who knows what city, and he says i will owe $120 upon delivery of the pod. WHAT? the delivery fee was only suppose to be $60, and now all the sudden it has doubled! And he goes on to say that well we assumed it was getting redelivered to the same place, really dumbass? Who packs up there entire home and stores it for a month and half just to have it redlivered to the same place? Mind you the new address is exactly 7 miles down the highway. Then i ask the guy how much i had paid so far, he went on to tell me that i had been charged the $339.30, which was the original quote, and i had been charged another two hundred and something dollars for another months storage. HUH???? When i requested the quote i specifically said that it was for two or more months storage, from my understanding that original quote covered those two months, apparently not! But that sure wasnt mentioned anywhere in my quote that, the amount was for one month. At this point im getting fuming man and yelling at the poor guy on the phone. What it all boils down to is that they are trying to charge me upwards of $600+ dollars to store my single sixteen foot POD for a month and half. So if you feel like getting extremely ripped off for storage go ahead and use these scam artists PODS. Absolutely rediculous!

The whole experience was absurd
First I went online to get an estimate. Pretty easy for Uhaul and other moving companies. PODS site said I had to call so I did. I got the big sales pitch about how great PODS is and she wouldn't answer my questions. I asked her very politely I might ad to please stop the sales pitch and just give me an estimate and she continued with the sales pitch as if she had to read it from a card. I finally got an estimate. I told her I could not afford it but thank you. She got rude and started grilling me about how else was I going to move that far, who else gave me estimates, etc. I asked her to remove my name and phone number from their database and I did not want telemarketing calls or for my info to get into others hands. Through all this she continued to interrupt. I said thank you and goodbye and as I hung up I heard her continuing to talk. The whole experience was absurd.

This company is nothing, but lies
We used the PODS shipping containers for a military move from Hawaii to Missouri in April 2010. The company gave me a quote of $9969.60 which was supposed to cover the moving and storage of 2 8X8X16 containers for the months of April and May. Since I use a credit union for my banking, I needed specific dates and amounts in order for the card to be processed. I should have known there would be issues when my credit union representative called to tell me there was an attempted charge of over $9000 to my card. The first amount of $5212 was not due for another two weeks, so I didn't worry about it. The following day I was driving across the country from Los Angeles and was unable to use my debit card for gas. When I called my credit union to find out why I was told that the daily withdrawal amount had already been met. Apparently PODS decided to try to debit $1000 a day from my account once the figured out that anything above that amount would be denied. This would have worked out fine, but the money was in my savings account, not the checking. When I called they denied having told me the specific dates for withdrawals. They CLAIM they record all phone conversations, but I could not get anyone to review the phone recording to see what had been told to me. Also, when I called today to schedule a delivery I was told I would pay an additional $486.83- an amount NOT included in the original quote - for the second months storage and insurance fee. When I questioned the legitimacy of the charge I was told that it was listed in my contract. The contract is in 6pt type PDF file that I was unable to completely print because the type went outside my print area. I never though it would be anything but what I was quoted since it was for a service member. We were also told we would not have to pay for the first months storage fee since we were military - also a lie. The concept of PODS is fantastic; however, the customer service is horrible. If I had it to do all over again I would definitely NOT use PODS. I have also told everyone I know what happened to us.

I would not have received my furniture, if I had not demanded it
PODS has compounded my complete disappointment.
It has been over 4 weeks since my furniture was finally delivered. Here is clarification of my old complaint issues and my additional complaints:
1) I would not have received my furniture, if I had not demanded it.
2) I was promised a call to discuss compensation for my troubles. No call.
3) I want the name of the last PODS agent working with me on delivery of my PODS. I would like to include his name in my American Express dispute.
4) I have followed up with the PODS online service for communication and received no responses.
5) I was told repeatedly that PODS records all communications and the communications would be reviewed. No response.
6) I would like the address of the PODS Executive Office so I may let them know what they are missing in professional customer service.
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT:
I originally booked PODS with the understanding that my PODS would leave Streamwood, IL on 2/26 with a 4 day transit. I called to schedule delivery in NC and was told the PODS did not leave IL until 3/3 and it would be a 6 day transit. I waited. Then I called to coordinate the order of my PODS delivery and was told my PODS went to the wrong service center, they would open a review ticket to determine who was at fault and I would be contacted within 72 hours. How could the destination Service Center be my fault? Why do I have to wait for a review? After not hearing anything on 3/9 I called, demanded my belongings and said that your investigation into why my belongings went to Greensboro, NC could wait until after I received my belongings. Only then, did I receive a call back and assistance in getting my belongings. PODS has now caused tremendous stress on my new job because I was unable to complete my move in the expected time I took off to do so. I am now traveling and the PODS are scheduled for delivery on the earliest date available of 3/11, of which is a day forecast for thunderstorms. This is 2 weeks from when the PODS should have left IL. The PODS customer service pitch about being better than movers has completely not held true in my case. It has been a nightmare of stress. I fully expect an adjustment to my PODS bill to reflect PODS mishandling, my time already expended, the hassle and the additional unpaid time away from work that I will need to complete my relocation. The driver, Bud, from Greensboro, NC was terrible and refused to put the POD where I requested it and he damaged and scratched up the driveway with a pipe used to leverage the POD into moving over about a foot.

OVER CHARGED
QUOTE DOUBLED IN PRICE! I was quoted a rate of just under 1K to move a 7x7 pod to MO from NC. I stored it on 4/12/2010 and called to have it moved on 6/2/2010... The old quote is NOT being honored and I am now being told that I must pay $1945.38 ... and a new storage fee of $125 ! And because the warehouse is still over 100 miles away - I will have to pay another company to move it to the new home as well! Does anyone have a resolution for this disaster????!!!????

Stay far away from them
I was quoted a price for my move and the representative stated I could change to the local rate when my pod arrived to my location. The next representative and manager stated that was not valid and asked if i was confused. I know what I heard from the representative.
