We visited this restaurant on the evening of Sunday 14th March 2010, it semmed an idyllic location for us to visit as we also live in West Yorkshire. When we arrived at the restaurant the bar/restaurant manager seemed preocuppied and looked at us in a very curious way, it was down to ourselves to state that we needed a table for two and further more I was not at all happy at the way he scrutonised my partners atyre to which there was no fault apart from him wearing smart jeans and a shirt. He then went onto say that the carvery was going to close at 8.00pm and this was just after 7.30pm so my partner went to the bar to order drinks.
After my partner had ordered the drinks and brought them back to our table (43) of which was right by the entrance to the restaurant and considering there was a handful of customers in a quite decently sized abode there were plenty of unoccupied tables further into the building where we could have been seated.
To add insult to injury after our meal I tried to obtain a friends mobile number from my partners phone and the bar/restaurant manager approached us once more and asked us if we were taking photos from the phone to which i informed him i wasn't and even if i had have been taking photos what would have bbeen the harm we thought to ourselves at the time. Not long afterwards we were told that the restaurant was about to close and could we drink up, this was about 8.30pm as I have a receipt to prove that I paid the bill at 8.35pm.
We left the restaurant after paying the bill and (followed) out of the building by the manager (Adam Cheney) all the way to the outside gate and then after being collected by a friend in his car followed by another car for about 2 to 3 miles by road to which was definately disconserting for ourselves and my friend who collected us.
This complaint is a crying shame as the meals we had at the carvery were delicious.
