I worked voluntary for Poole Recycle, which collects and recycles unwanted household items.
I was asked to electrically test and repair electrical items such as slow tabletop cookers, tv's and radios.
I am not a qualified electrician, and neither was the other person doing it on my days off.
This is a serious breach of the law, and could potentially endanger peoples lifes, as customers would come in and buy these items.
We had a Gas engineer who would fix other items, and another engineer who would test the washing machines etc, however we had complaints from some customers that some cycles did not work on some washing machines.
I saw a member of staff accidently damage a second hand wardrobe, glue it and then delivered it to the customer without a refund as she had already paid for it.
I know a vulnerable woman who bought from the Dorchester branch of Recycle, a wardrobe in very bad state, and was it was unstable.
Never buy from the 2 recycle places, for the above reasons as you pay less, and get better PAT tested electrical products from second hand shops.
