Whoever is behind this business is putting illegal advertising signs on public property in lower Westchester (White Plains, Port Chester, Rye, Rye Brook, etc.).
This technique, and these precise locations, were used by Great Date Now, whose owner, Gary Ferone, was convicted of ripping off his clients (search this board and you'll get links to news stories from legitimate sources about this, in addition to anecdotes from people who got ripped off by him).
It is 100% illegal to put your advertising signs on public roads. And if you go to the Portchestersingles.com site, there are forms to fill out where you give tons of information about yourself, but the site doesn't even identify itself (there is _no_ contact information). They will however contact you once you have given them all your personal info.
This is _not_ a legitmate way to run a business. And those signs are apparently put up by a Panamanian company, Nustar Solutions, which also owns the website (PortChestersingsles.com).
So... we have a foreign company breaking US laws to advertise a business that won't identify itself.
That's a recipe for fraud and lawlessness and it does NOTHING for the community except take $$$ from gullible lonely people.
Does anyone know who is behind this? I wouldn't be surprised to find it was Mr. Ferone, who has a habit of (allegedly) draining all the $$$ out of a business before declaring it bankrupt. Or maybe it is another unscrupulous operator?
Any information would be appreciated - and I hope anyone considering using this service will be forewarned, chances are you're going to get ripped off.
Thanks,
CW
