Harassing phone calls
I have no debt with Portfolio Recovery. Apparently this collection agency has my telephone number in their data base. I receive calls from several different numbers on my caller ID both toll free and long distance. I reside in Texas. When they do leave messages they are for several people who I never heard of and who have never resided with me. The one time I was able to get someone I requested that my telephone number be taken out of their data base but nothing happened. I never received any mail from them because I am not one of the real debtors they are trying to reach. Thank goodness they do no have my address in their data base. Apparently the collectors are playing a game by dialing my number just to fill their quotas.

phone bill 16 years ago!!!
This company (Portfolio Recovery) keeps calling for my husband, about a phone bill, that he supposedly did not pay in 1995, I have never recieved a bill or any thing in the mail, stating that my husband owes this money. I have no proof he even owes $104.00 on a phone bill, I want to know if the statue of limitations are out, can they still try to collect after 16 years? Are they allowed to argue with me about my husbands supposed debt, that we have know idea or proof about? When they called they gave me a phone number (witch i have never had and of a different area code) accusing they had talked to me in 2008. I told they that was not true, then he changed his story. I would like to know what I should do about this situation? Is it fraud? Real? What should I do.

Credit card / phone calls
I get 3 or more calls per day about a credit card they say I have. First thing, I have never owned a credit card and everything I own is paid off except my home and of course the Government. But anyways after talking with them about the card and stating that I have never had it, they pretty much called me a liar. I nicely asked them not to call and he stated they could call an x amount of times by law. So I said by "law I can come and whoop your ass". A young prick that wanted to piss me off, will now have every call answered and each one of his fellow workers will get the most ass hole phone call they will every receive. As a 3rd shift worker, I don't need someone calling my phone at 8:30 in the morning after I just went to sleep. These are very harassing people and I'm not the one they want to fool with. I have unlimited time on my phone so I am in the process of setting it up to call them everyday 5 or more times just to waste their time from calling other people. Hope you enjoy your job ass blowers.

Harrassement
Within the last three months I have begun to receive phone calls from Portfolio Recovery in regards to a credit card that has had no activity of any kind in over twelve years. These calls originate from different states within the country. The call I just received came from Illinois from a Mr. Valentine - 847-994-2540. The calls are typically the same. They state I have an outstanding balance and I need to pay. When I request a print out of the account I am told that they don't have access to that, that they just call for payment. This is a classic form of bullying. For someone to demand a payment with no justification of a bill is quite rediculous. Surely this can be stopped. Any help is appreciated.

Unknown loan from 1999
In December calls from Portfolio concerning debt from 1999. I advised I had no knowledge and requested harrassment to stop. Portfolio called from a several different area codes around the country. Now the screaming starts after I answer my cell phone.
How is it they threaten from 1999 and supply no proof.

debt collection
This company (portfolio recovery) has been calling me constantly and I told them that I know nothing about what they are talking about. I asked them to send me information about what they want and they refused to give me all pertinent info, both over the phone or by mail.

Not Sure
These people have the nerve to call my house on Sunday of all days. I don't even know if it is legitament or not. They never leave a message or number to return call. I get an automated phone call and it is not even a real person calling me. I want to block this number from contacting me further. What do I need to do?? Thank you!

Harrassment
For several long months my phone has been ringing constantly from These hard headed people. I have informed them to cease calling and they are relentless. They call at all times of the day and even at night. Sundays even apply. I have asked them who they are and why they are calling and they refuse to let me have any information. They are extremly rude by refusing to identify their reason for calling and I am not about to reveal any info for any reason by way of phone. For all I know, they are a bunch of con artists and I want this to end immediately.

Not a Valid Debt
I have been harrased by this company for several months now. They keep telling me I owe $1900 to US Cellular. I havent had a US Cellular phone in over 15 years. They try and tell me that the account originated in 2006, but yet Ive been with Nextel and Verison sence 99... I wish I knew where they office was so I could DISCUSS this face to face, and see if they listen better when there phone is shoved up there a$%.

I don't have any debt like porfolio recovery debt collector call me many time in a day or night from many other states number to ask me very rude about the debt I never had. I answer them very politely and let them know they had wrong person, but they persist to harrass me. I have a feeling they are from a criminal gang who want to torture me to get money. I don't know how to stop them. They deserve to cope with the justice but no body do it now?
