Portrait Studio
Portraitmasters had a booth set up in Chesterfield Towne Center Mall, Chesterfield County, VA on 3/26/11. The representative, Renee Hinton (757-419-4870), offered a Grand Opening Special package to take photos for $20.00 at a studio across the street. I gave her $20.00 cash, and she provided me with a card with the amount paid. Renee indicated she would call me to set up an appointment and that I had until the middle of May to take the photos. She never called to set up an appointment, as promised. I contacted the number on the card (877-228-5269) on May 4, 2011 to set up an appointment. I was informed that Portraitmasters no longer had a studio in the Chesterfield County, VA area as of April 30, 2011 and that the closest location would be in Virginia Beach. I requested a refund due to the distance of 2.5 hours away. I was referred to Larry, the owner (904-347-9959). He indicated that Renee was an independent contractor and that I needed to get a refund from her. I contacted Renee Hinton on May 9, 2011, and she told me that I needed to speak with Larry. I told her that I had already spoken to Larry, and sent him 2 emails. She then indicated that she would call him and for me to call her back. I again called Larry to inquire, and he insisted that Renee was the person who had to return the money, as he did not receive any of the money. I called Renee, and she indicated that she did not know why Larry would tell me that. In essence, I was getting the runaround. Then, Renee indicated that there were no refunds. I purchased this portrait package with the intent to utilize the studio in my area. It is unreasonable to ask a customer to drive 2.5 hours when this was not the original agreement. I seek assistance in obtaining a full refund.
