Precision Flooring Reviews

Ron K May 6, 2011
Bad service
Mr. Craig is all promises at first, next comes shoddy workmanship, and then excuses. After first promising us a first rate job, he did not supervise his employees. Then, while installing four hardwood floors in the four bedrooms in our home, the employees installed material with clearly damaged surfaces (right out of the box). We 'caught' most of the 'damaged' boards while they were being installed and had the employees remove same. But then they 'face-nailed' the replacement boards down, claiming that was the only way to do it. They did not even use filler to hide the nail holes. We have since learned there is another proper method. They used a 'lazy way.' They also improperly installed thresholds, which have since become loose and/or cracked. When we called Doug regarding the above to have warranty work performed he promised to have someone come out right away. After several calls, an individual did show up, on one ocassion only. He spent a total of 12 minutes at our home and left, allegedly to get replacement components or tools. He never returned. Subsequent and frequent phone calls were usually met with voicemail. On the rare ocassion when Doug or someone else answered, they would schedule an appointment to do the repair work, then never show. When contacted about their failure to perform, they would have excuses, from 'overbooking' to 'an emergency.' These people seriously have a lot of emergencies. They must be running an ambulance company instead of a flooring company. After almost 10 months of attempting to get our warranty work completed, we visited the materials vendor, Lumber Liquidators, to ascertain Doug's whereabouts. We WERE NOT surprised to find out that he no longer represents or is associated with Lumber Liquidators. On a positive note, Lumber Liquidators provided us with a TRUE PROFESSIONAL to complete the warranty issues FREE OF CHARGE. THANK YOU Lumber Liquidators. On a side note, the installation was taking place during the 'gas crises' of 2008. We had 4 red plastic five gallon gas cans (each numbered with a black Sharpie 1 through 4) stored in our garage (where the flooring crew was cutting the flooring). We had the gas for potential hurricane/generator use. At the time, gas was about $3.50+ a gallon. Interestingly our Number 4 can disappeared. No one else had access during that time frame. We're not accusing anyone, but we do find it coincidental that the gas can disappeared simultaneously with the flooring work. I only wish I could provide you with my full name and number here so I can recommend the true professional to do your floors. And, Doug, I can't wait to read your rebuttal. Maybe you'll have a NEW EXCUSE!
