Feb. 2 2008 - My wife and I went on vacation to Maui two years ago and decided to purchase a timeshare condo in a newly developed resort while there. We used the condo in 2009, but financial situations changed and we're unable to use our condo anymore.
June 28 2010 The customer service rep at the resort in Maui suggested we try to sell our weeks, instead of trying to get out of the contract we had with the resort (25 years). She recommended International Property Rentals based in Salt Lake City, Utah to list our property, which has had only two rentals since we agreed to list our timeshare.
July 2 2010 International Property Rentals agreed to list our timeshare property. We were told it would cost $500 to list our property for 2010/11 tourist season, and that the rental of the property would exceed $2100 for our two weeks. Our customer service rep at International Property Rentals was Dave Collins. We never knew whether he was being truthful with us or not, as he had a used-cars salesman kind of demeanor to him. But in the end Dave Collins stuck to his word and we were able to get our property rented with IPR.
Aug. 16 2010 We contacted Premiere Escrow Services because IPR told us to contact Premiere Escrow Services in Dallas, who would handle the holding of the rental fees that were going to be paid out to me. My customer rep at Escrow Premiere is Paul Harris. During the first conversation with Paul, he told us we were expected to receive all the moneys from IPR, less a 15% cut that Premiere Escrow would be withholding for their services. My wife and I thought that to be rather high commission, but agreed in the end.
Oct. 20 2010 We recieved word from IPR that our timeshare was rented for this season, which were were relieved to hear as our annual maintenance fee was approaching. Dave Collins said the couple paid in full, and would therefore be informing Escrow Premier about our money.
Nov. 14 2010 Paul Harris at Premiere Escrow Services informed us that our money transfer from IPR has been reiceved and our money should be received shortly. I expressed interest in having it before the Christmas Holidays, but Paul made no promises.
Jan 5 2011 I had to pay the annual maintenance fees for the resort in Maui, as Paul still has yet to follow-through with releasing the funds. I called him to inform him about my frustration, and he ended up putting me on hold and forgetting about me. I ended up hanging up after 25 minutes on hold.
Jan 15 2011 Paul Harris called to inform us that there would be a further delay in receiving our money due to a clarical error at IPR. I told him that it's been well over 3 months since we recieved word that Escrow Premiere had our money.
March 1 2011 Our check FINALLY arrived, after having to wait almost 4 months for it. I accused Paul Harris that Escrow Premiere is just using the time so they can collect interest on the funds, but Paul denied that.
March 7 2011 The bank finally released the funds from the check, and our money is finally in our bank account. It took over 3 months to get the money for a simple money transfer, but Premiere Escrow paid out.
