Adi Bosnia September 17, 2010
stolen money
My name is Adi and I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have a problem with Preplogic company and ask you for help.
A bit more than 30 days I came in contact with preplogic company because I was interested in their offer "Unlimited offer". When I heard of their employees is the amount, I wanted to give up because I really do not have 3.000 $. In the end I was persuaded to take a test period of 30 days from $ 99. During these 30 days I sent a mail to their employees (Donnie) where I said that I want to cancel their bid because I have no money.
On Thursday, 09/09 I received information that their company took all the money from my debit card and their staff called me on the phone and say that I have to pay. I was really sorry that I can not to pay and to continue with their offer because I would like to advance in my career and increase my knowledge with their materials. Now I have no money to pay credit bills or for college.
Please help me to back my money!

Fraudulent charges/Poor customer service
Beware this outfit. They are VERY POOR customer service, and will take 2500.00 out of your account whenever they please, if you allow them access to your account. They are pushing a 2 year leaning program, they want 99.00 to start, and the 198.00 monthly, but in my case they agreed to 99.00 a month. After their trial, they double billed, after alot of back and forth, they told me they would skip a month. All was well until my card had to be reissued, and when contacted by them immediately paid my 99.00. But according to them I was a day late, so they drafted 1597.00 extra to satisfy the 2 year agreement, until my bank shut them off. When contacted, their rep Michelle Bink, had no remorse, and said their system was set up to do this if you are 1 day late (I was not, but according to them I was). Never, ever do you need to deal with this kind of predator. It typifies everything a business should not be in dealing with a customer, and seek your IT training elsewhere.

Criminals
We had been inundated with what can be only described as a landslide of e-mails advertising preplogics services, these e-mails subject lines ranged from “Pass your exams. Guaranteed” to “You aren't fired” then we got a phone call I believe from a Mr. Kent Billiter in April 2009 who was very persuasive talked to me several times and managed to convince me that Preplogic services would work for us here.

I had explained to Kent that we wanted to start a training process here in Uganda for our staff and it seemed that Preplogic was a suitable solution; I was informed the subscription would allow two simulates users but in reality more could online.

I had explained that our internet was not so good in fact would make the service unusable he said no issues the product can be sent via the post which it was.

We been having various communications with Preplogic over the last or so months the latest is with Christina, who seems to be somewhat single tracked to say the least.

Now the fun and games start, we had finally received the product about 3-5 weeks their after, we tried to use the product and found various issues to do with connectivity, we changed our ISP and when on the new fibre that had just been laid from India to Kenya and then to us here in Uganda., still no joy so we had contact Kent via e-mail explained the situation and asked to have the service stopped we had not heard back from Kent for some I then started looking for other contacts.

I even when on their site and submitted my complaint online the response took well over a week and not nothing happened, I will try again..

Kent did get back to us in the end and then put us in contact with Ms. Christina Collison of accounts receivable and seems other relevant department s, we had several communications which seemed hopeful at first but soon became clear Christina only job was to delay us stopping payment only.

Preplogic have managed to offer not one solution within our entire communications which tells me that they are not interested in solving the issues in anyway only getting your money no matter what the cost to the client.

The latest two e-mail clearly stated “Discontinue your monthly payments and continue your certification training “ and the other “More access for free “ when I finally caved in as said ok let’s do it just so we can closed the case I get ane-mail back say in “If you make your final payment with me which is $598.64 usd. I can give you a extra 6 months off. As a extra bonus I can give you a discount of $50.00 off. So I would need to collect a payment of $548.64. Thank you”

Sorry I am confused why would I make a final payment for a service I cannot use? (and we had already offered this before, it was not then deemed a suitable response then it’s not now) Do they not read thee-mail and where does the free access come in the English Prpelogic uses is somewhat confusing and deliberately misleading, and how is it free it I pay for it, what is wrong with them.

To be clear we have not been able to use this product in any consistent manor as have stopped trying use it for over 4 months completely, Africa is not exactly a major focus as yet for the rest of the world but it will be and I will ensure Preplogics name goes far and wide here Africa is a small place.

What is going on these people seem to be not only singles tracked but treading a very fine line between complete misinformation and outright fraud / theft.

I would like to know what I can do about these people they deliberately hoodwink their clients they seem to be nothing more than petty criminals, but I guess with the money involve it’s more like a softform of organized crime in reality.

Wire Fraud, Theft
On May 7th, a charge was made to my debit card from Preplogic in the amount of $499.00 for an upgraded training program that I did not authorize. I filed a complaint with my bank to investigate the charge after the bank informed me that the transaction could not be reversed. After numerous phone calls I was told by Michelle B. (Preplogic Accounting Department) that they(Preplogic) would refund my money back to my account if I filled out and returned additional paperwork. The paperwork they requested for me to fill out was a credit form consisting of an area where they required an imprint of my credit card and security code along with my drivers license and my signature; all of which I declined to complete as it would give them complete control of my checking account. I obtained legal counsel of which a letter (via email) was sent demanding prompt refund of the $499.00 that they had illegally taken from my account. On May 12th, Preplogic refunded the $499.00 back to my account however, they immediately charged my account another $191.34 which they had already taken out on the 8th of May.

PrepLogic took my credit card for full payment
PrepLogic took my credit card for full payment, not the suggested pay per month payments of $199.00 like advertised. I hope PrepLogic will read this and respond. For your information, you took from the wrong person this time. I actually work for CNN and you will be investigated to the fullest and hopefully with all done and said afterwards, you will be shut down. Finally, Prep Logic has over-stepped their boundaries:)

Fraud
About two months ago I was looking for practice exams for CCENT (Cisco ICND1), I visited PrepLogic's website, where I started to chat with one of their sales representative. I explained her precisely what I was looking for and she advised me to get their CCNA package as it's broken into two parts - ICND1 and ICND2, so I can use the first part for my current study. She convinced me to purchase it as it was - according to her - the best choice for me. She also advised me to go for their current promotion which gives two year access to their libraries for a monthly charge of $99.00 and ensured me that if I don't need it I can just simply cancel that at any time. I gave her my credit card details and purchased the product. It turned out that the materials I downloaded didn't match the description, and I wasn't able to use it for my studies. A month later I found out that they charged me another $191.00. I tried to get answers from PrepLogic and I found out that I am in the program that can't be cancelled now and the total cost is $2400.00. I was shocked, as first of all I have been charged already $290.00 for something that appeared to be completely different than I was promised to find, and second of all I have to pay for something that was not introduced to me and simply I will not use.
I have been trying to speak to PrepLogic for the last ten days, to cancel my account and get refund for something that does not match the description, but all I hear is that they 'have 12 years of experience in helping IT professionals' and their advise on how should I manage my money to pay them whole amount.
I have got a copy of the chat I had with their sales representative and it states something completely different than I find now. So does it mean that their representative can say/ promise anything to sell the product? And as far I know you cannot oblige someone with the contract by default, isn't this against the law?
If I only googled them before the purchase, I could find out about their 'sales methods' and way they treat their customers, as there are many other people having similar problems with them. I was simply misled by them and now PrepLogic doesn't want to help me at all in this situation. Oh, no sorry - they offered me $200.00 discount.
I would never recommend them to anyone.

Imcompetent Confidence Tricksters
I asked a huge amount of questions before signing up for an "unlimited 30 day trial", mostly about being able to use the product on my laptop when away from the internet, the answers were all pretty much yes you can use it, but you'll have to download it on a computer with net access, this was ok, I paid for the trial ($99) and downloaded my first set of course materials, some of which didn't work straight off, I contacted support and they fixed this pretty quickly, I thought that I was onto a good thing, then I tried to use it on my laptop to find that it wouldn't work without net access, also the audio part of the course needed to be integrated using an extra piece of software which I couldn't get hold of because I wasn't resident in the US, I asked for this file to be emailed to me only to be told to try again the next day, this went on for 5 days, I then asked for a refund and this is when the fun started, I was told that I would get a phone call to complete the cancellation, they now won't answer my emails and after 40 minutes on the phone just now finally got someone to admit that it should be cancelled within 24 hours, but no comment on whether i'll get a refund of my trial money for a product that just doesn't work outside the US, total waste of time and money, no customer service to speak of and very clever wording used on the phone, you won't get anyones full name and forget trying to speak to a manager.

Harrassing phone calls
These people have been calling for weeks and sending emails. The sales rep who's been calling me doesn't represent that he's a sales rep, instead he says: "Please call me back as soon as possible". I've already emailed him once, and I'm still getting called. My email couldn't have been any clearer -- I'm not looking to take any exams for the next 5 years, so I care about the special they're offering. Of course, as other people have noted, he never says that there is any charge other then the $99, so I understand why other people are calling them rip off artists. I'm adding the email below:

Hi Jason

You may have missed this on the site recently, but we're having a promotion for our New Online Access. You can get the full training for any 3 exams of your choice $99 right now. Fraudulant Misrepresentation
On January 25th I purchased a $49 Prep Test for CCNA Certification. After that Sean Wallace sent an email saying that for $50 more I could have 30 days of unlimited practice exams and studies. I said okay not a bad deal. Now I find out that on February 17th they charged my account for $191. I contacted them and they said that what he had sold me was a two year service for $200 a month. I told them that that was not what i was told and that I would like my money back, and the service canceled. They said they cannot cancel as it's been over 30 days. It has not been over 30 days. They said they could reduce the amount. They keep saying that I should have logged onto the website and read the paperwork. I shouldn't have to read paperwork on something that was explained to me as only being a one time $50 charge on 30 days. Sean Wallace lied on the phone to sell me this fruadulaunt service. Now when I contacted them multiple times all they can say is that they'll reduce it to $99 a month via form letters (insert name in blanks). This company has very shady selling practices to make money. I've reported them to the BBB in Florida and even with that they keep sending them the same form letter. Don't ever do business with these mobsters, if you get an email from them or Cramsession delete as fast as you possibly can.
