When my Compaq was under the 3 year warranty, it had three and more consecutive repairs for the same problem. It started losing power again for the fourth time several days before the warranty was out, but I was told that there was nothing wrong with it.
After the three year warranty, it began losing power more and more until now it is almost impossible to use. I never know when it will shut off. The prompt tells me to go on battery power yet it is hooked up to power.
I called and was told that only four things could have been causing this power loss and Best Buy only checked for the "easier" things such as a cord change. They did not check where the cord connects to the computer or the mother board.
I am now without a warranty and having an increase in loss of power that started during the warranty.
I was told that they would honor my warranty since it dictates that i was to get a new computer if there were three consecutive repairs for the same problem.
This was never done. I allege that they knew when I was under warranty that the sudden loss of power could have been rectified, but chose to tell me that they there was nothing wrong with my computer.
I spent over $300.00 for the warranty that said that there was replacement options, yet this was not honored.
