I bought a Compaq Notebook yesterday. Within one day the internet would not work and the sound stopped. I called "Customer service" who told me my guaranteed was not covered by them, I should call PC World (not the shop I bought it from incidently). PC World obviusly were bemused by this as was I. My notebook is still not working.
I called Compaq 9 times and each time was referred to PC World. The operator I spoke to could bearly speak English and was very rude.
In desperation I tried the restore facility. The restore facility failed to work. I requested replacement CDs and was told I had to pay £69.95 for the privilege. I did not hand over a penny. Instead I am writing this review on every website I can find.
Take my advice DONT BUY COMPAQ! Buy Fujitsu their customer service is A++
