Our Priceline reservations were changed
I made a reservation for two days, but one of the days we didn't show up for check in -- we had related to travel issues. But we arrived the next day around noon to find out that our two days were cancelled.
How many times did I make a reservation, paid in full, and only used part of the week? I don't care about the night that we didn't check in, but the second night was cancelled without any consent just when we were ready to use that night.
I think that one night was stolen from us!!!

Refuses to refund a passenger with cancellation insurance
I am a hotel owner who witnessed several situations with Priceline refusing to refund a traveler after being forced to change their plans due to an emergency. These passengers had purchased a cancellation insurance policy from priceline.
I found Priceline particularly discriminant against travelers who do not speak English as a first language. I tried to help the traveler and they gave me the biggest run around. They refused to find me a department head to speak to. I talked to 8 different people from priceline and I eventually gave up. They are blatantly dishonest and non accommodating their clients.
This was not the first time but would be the last.
It appears that they forgot who made them successful. They make some tourists leave our beautiful country with a very bad taste about the way we do business. Their cancellation insurance is a fraud. They often try to get out of it.
If you can avoid using Priceline you would do yourself a favor

Terrible mis-presentation
PriceLine states that their Name Your Own Price 3 star hotels are the most recognized in the industry.
I received one for a hotel that only has 3 stars, but it doesn't even offer double beds. This was a terrible misrepresentation.
I contacted them 10 times and they just don't care.

I was hung up on three times and spent over 5 hours on the phone with no satisfaction
They say on their site that they will "look" for nonstop flights first and then go to 1 stop after that.
I was on one Priceline site that showed 3 nonstop flights. Any of these flights would have worked fine for me. I then had the "name your own price" button curse.
I clicked it and was told to name my own price and that they would look for nonstop flights first and I could save up to 40 percent.
Not wanting to be greedy and having just been shown that there were 3 nonstop flights on their previous site, I bid just 10 dollars less on a flight from Richmond Virginia to New Jersey.
What a shock. What should have been a very short flight in the morning (all nonstops were morning flights) turned in to an evening flight with a significant layover right next door to Richmond in DC.
I called their customer service to ask who was searching for my nonstop flight?
They said sorry, nobody does. This was not just one agent, but three. And actually they didn't say sorry, they were very rude.
I was hung up on three times and spent over 5 hours on the phone with no satisfaction.
I guarantee you won't get to speak with an American or anyone that can follow a story more than 5 seconds long.
It's all Bangalore, India where they are taught to do one thing. "Just say NO".
They'll say you signed off on the contract and agreed to layovers. They don't care that they falsely advertise what they will do. I'll never use Priceline again and I won't use United either for partnering with such shady characters.
Virginia is supposed to have a 7 day right of cancellation no matter what, but Priceline doesn't honor such laws.

Priceline did not offer nor confirm a reservation, but did charge our credit card
We were trying to book a hotel through Priceline and it asked for our credit card information before we could begin making a request.
We then attempted a request and we were sent a message saying that Priceline was unable to find an accommodation for our request.
We then exited the program to discontinue our search.
Later that month, when we received our credit card statement, we found a charge for $107.00 from Priceline. We called and they told us that we put in a second request and that this offer was accepted.
We explained to them that indeed we did not put in a second request and that there was never any email of confirmation or reservations or anything.
Most importantly, we never accepted any offer.
They told us that there was nothing that they could do.
When we asked to speak to a supervisor they put us through to someone who was extremely rude and basically told us tough luck. We asked to speak to someone else and they told us we were speaking to a top person and that the only one higher was the Vice President of Priceline and that we could send them a letter.
What a blow off! We are currently disputing through our credit card company.
We will never even search Priceline again.

Never received an email confirmation for my bid
I submitted a bid on Priceline. I checked the website which said the bid was accepted and gave me flight numbers and times.
I never received an e-mail confirmation.
The week I was to start my trip I called the airline to confirm. They had me on no flights. I called Priceline. They had no record of my bid being accepted.
They said only that it had not been confirmed. With Priceline the bidder is not supposed to confirm.
The ticket is bought the moment the bid is accepted according to Priceline's own warnings on their website.
I had to buy a high priced to keep my travel plans.

won't offer lower rate
So I decided to book a hotel through Priceline and decided to book a rental car as well. I booked a rental for a mid size for $25 a day. I went to check my email right after I booked both and saw an email from Priceline about my upcoming trip. The email showed me car rentals for a lower rate than what I booked for. It stated that I could book a midsize for $19 a day. I immediatly got on the phone to Priceline requesting that this lower rate be offered and they claim that it was for a future trip. That is not what my email stated. The email stated for my upcoming trip to Daytona Beach which is where I am going. They then stated that I signed a contract and I can't get out of it which I understand. So I asked if they would send a check for the difference. They said no. They had the gull to tell me that they don't know why I received that email and that they can't verify the email. I told them that I wouldn't have called if I didn't receive this email. So I will be making a formal complaint with the BBB and I will no longer be using Priceline or refer Priceline to anyone. It's not even about the $20 difference really but the pure fact that they wouldn't offer the lower rate that they sent me.

Stinky Smoking Rooms
I'm a formerly loyal Priceline customer who successfully bid on a room yesterday. Only to arrive, discover that the hotel was overbooked and my room was now in another (cheaper) hotel, and in a very stinky smoking room, no negotiation possible.
By the time we arrived it was too late to do much else. We called Priceline and were told that we could cancel the room, but we were not guaranteed another. We chose to keep the room rather than risk a night in the rental car.
Bottom line: Priceline gives you smoking rooms. Which, as a non-smoker, is miserable. Even as a former smoker, I'd say this room is particularly brutal. The walls are yellow, the ceiling and carpets reek.
I believe that if the public really understood that they were risking a truly stinky room any time they used Priceline, they might not be so inclined to use Priceline. From my experience, I would gladly have spent more money for a room I could stand to be in. Priceline ruined my sleep on this business trip. Beware the Priceline bait and switch!

Horrible to Their Loyal Customers
I will never use priceline again to book anything. There policy is to first wait on hold to speak to someone for an hour and then to say "I am sorry, there is nothing we can do for you" My husband and I booked a hotel through them and were not able to go out of town due to our baby being very sick. I asked them to give me a credit. I would even pay all of their fees. There answer was no. If you have a relative that dies we can help you then. If you ever think your plans may not work out, do not use them. Its not worth it. They do not care about their customers at all.

robinson
hey robinson... yeah you were raised right and had a proper education alright... so you said you are a costumer???? what kind of costumes do you do? who do you provide costumes for and finally, do YOU wear a costume? did your education include tact, grammar, spelling, forming sentences...etc...you said all those "costumers" didnt "took" 5 minutes to read the scam in fine print and your job would be "more easier" if ppl were nicer...i would guess amy robinson that a priceline COSTUMER rep is the best you can do in life, but my opinion is that youre better off at mickey d's and sticking to "do you like fries with that"... cant mess up that sentence... priceline should fire you immediately...
