Unauthorized charge
Privacy Matters 123 charged my credit card account by using information from Travelosity. They cancelled my unauthorized membership but I wonder how many other people are charged this way. BEWARE.

Unauthorized charges
Charge credit card without authorization, rude and false promises when eventually get through to resolve issue on the phone. Can't believe that the US Government hasn't arrested the con artists yet, they have been operating Privacy Matters 123 and now FREETRIPLESCORE.COM for years, please someone take action.

Cancellation of Membership
I pressed button for free credit report. It then said for 1.00 dollar you could get you credit report and scores. It s very tricky they do not tell you in till after you give them you account number and say it is ok to take one dollar from you account that it is a monthly with draw. I canceled it right than and there. I then went to my bank on line and there was two withdraws pending for one dollar, I went back to the site and tried to log on they said the account was closed. Then two days later the withdraws were gone. I though good it`s ok. But one week later on Feb 24 two withdraws for one dollar are there again. Now on Feb 25 to more pending withdraws show up for 29.95 each. Please help I do not have that much money. I cant`t pay my bills with that money gone. Thank you Roy Bennie

canceled service but charge 1 1/2 years
I signed up for this service a year and a half ago. I cancelled the service the next day. They charged me $32.95 plus $1.00 a month for over a year and a half. They claimed they have no record of my cancellation. I never got at cancellation receipt from them. I never received any service the entire time they were charging my account. THIS IS FRAUD. This RIPOFF cost me over $500.00. FOR NOTHING!!! Shame on me for paying for a charge I didn't recognize for so long. Shame on Privacy Matters 123 for making the only thing private is how to get a hold of them to cancel your service. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE. CROOKS

Unauthorized credit card charge
I noticed two charges on my credit card statement last month, both for $19.95, one from Privacy Matters 123 and the other from Home Savings Mall. I have never done business with either of these companies. When I called to inquire about the charge the Privacy Matters rep informed me that the account had been set up through peoplefinder.com (I've never done business with them either), that it had been set up just last month and (the kicker is) that the address used was an old address; I haven't lived there for over a year. They've obviously had MANY complaints because when I told her about the complaints I had read online she immediately stated she would credit my card, asked if I needed anything else, then stated her name and ID number before hanging up. I don't know how this company obtained my credit card number but I'm watching it VERY closely and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Unauthorized debit
We found a charge in our account for $19.95 and found that neither my husband nor myself made this charge. Called the 877 number and they said it would be cancelled. When we found it it was still in the pending part of our account, but now today it has cleared. The bank said they could not do anything about it, however, am going to call again. I recently became a Classmates.com member and will NOT be renewing my subscription after the 3 months is up. We have cancelled his debit card at this time. Still waiting to get the charge removed.

Unauthorized billing
Praise the Lord for online banking!!! Otherwise, I wouldn't have discovered this charge until next month. At least I caught it the day it appeared on my online checking statement (today). I went to see if a recent check cleared & what my current balance is. I then saw that a charge of $19.95 from 'Privacy Matters' was pending.

I first called the 1-877 number on the statement, but there was no option to speak to a live person & I had no idea what my 'member ID' was. I then Googled the company name. The website was just as useless as the phone number.

Thankfully, the Ripoff Report website also appeared in the results. As with others who filed a report here, I recently signed up as a paying member of Classmates.com; I definately will make sure to cancel my membership after the 3 months are up. I am going to my bank after work today to file a dispute in person. Apparently, my account and/or debit card info will be changed. If I have to go through that...oooohhh!

Unauthorized charges
This company withdrew $19.95 from my debit account on 10/16/08 and called it a "membership fee." I never authorized anything or signed up for any kind of membership with this company. They claimed they would remove the charge within 2-3 business days. We'll see. They gave me a phony sounding "transaction" number and the "operator" told me her name was Akeesha. Beware...
