Privacy matters 123
I am on disability and a very low fixed income, I wanted to know my credit report so I signed up and thought for $1. I would get other info. Well I got an overdraft charge to my checking account for $64.85 for all kinds of things that was supposed to be a one time $1...I am in a panic now as what to do. I emailed them (Privacy Matters 123) and they did reply to say thanks and it would take 1-2 business days to cancel, no mention of sending any money back or any credit, nothing!! It's the first time in my life I've felt like I"ve been scammed...

Cancellation of Membership
On April 9, 2008, I requested cancellation of my account and the
trial membership. Subsequently I have been charged monthly
for the membership in the amount of $19.95 plus $1.oo . I now
am requesting not only cancellation of my membership but a re-
fund of money charged me since April 9th. I figure this amounts
to a total of $62.85.

no information received
I didn' receive a welcome email as advertised with instructions on how to access the members only benefits. and there was no phone number given to call and discuss this or cancel this account.

Unathorized credit card charges
2 Unauthorized Credit Card charges from these scam artists. When contacted they launched into a speech about how wonderful they were and how I shouldn't 'cancel' my membership. This garbage despite my telling them first off the charges were not authorized. They then offered to refund 1 of the 2 charges. When told them no way they put me on hold for 20 minutes until a 'supervisor' picked up. He then launched into the same stupid garbage about how I shouldn't 'cancel' my membership. I finally got a word in and told him I would dispute both charges with my credit card company and call the Connecticut State Police. He has promised a refund to both charges by the end of the week. We'll see.

Company got debit card information from another site!
I noticed $19.95 taken out of my checking account from a privacy matters. I called 800 number listed on my checking account form. I had to enter my debit card number to even find out membership number they wanted me to enter. I talked with a guy named Dimetree. He said his employee number is 152852. He told me they were affiliated with peoplefinders.com. That's how they got my information. I had canceled at peoplefinders.com. I never could use their services so canceled it and they refunded my money. This privacy matters is to get a credit report. I never wanted a credit report or asked for one or even got on their site. I just want my money back and worried because they easily got my credit card information plus address and phone number. Also I looked through my junk mail and saw their email wanting me to clink on something to confirm my membership. I just saw it today. I had never confirmed anything with them.

Being billed for a service i did not authorize and never used even with the 7 day!
They send 2 emails one for smart savings, with one id#, and another privacy matters123 with another id@ when you try to cancel they ignore you and wont except my input 3 to discuss the emails i received, when i press 5 for canceling their phone service goes off. I have tried about 8 or more times and the same thing happens, and i sent an email which they totally ignored yet they send me emails thanking me for taking their service and am billing my credit card for something i did not authorize. And was never able to use the trial period. They are deceiving people with the way they are advertising, i think they are a scam and unethical.
