Unauthorized debit from checking by other companies associated with Intellius!
WARNING: Wish I had checked out Intellius before using them... I got info I requested, but what I didn't know was they work with a company called Privacy Matters and this company uses your payment method to debit money for there services also, even though you DO NOT sign up for it... Privacy Matters did credit back the $19.95 but it over drew my checking and would not credit the 29.00 nsf fee because when I went on Intellius it. Approved me for privacy matters automatically... I am on disability and limited money and this 29.00 hurt me as well as my name.

Fraud and scam!
I, as others on this website have experienced, thought I was going to receive a free credit report from this privacymatters website. I signed up and expected to receive the report. I didn't know I was going to be charged $45 a month. I never received a report AT ALL and was unable to catch the monthly charges until three months later. They only refunded me for the most recent month's charges because they said it was their company policy. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO REPORT THIS COMPANY TO THEIR ATTORNEY GENERAL. Mine told me that more complaints received would lead to governmental action. This company is around solely to rip customers off. REPORT PRIVACYMATTERS.COM TO YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL!

Fraud and cheating!
I did not sign up for this service and was being charged $30.95 a month. I finally got to talk to a human being and was told I could only get back one month charges and they would cancel the service which I never applied for in the first place. THEN a month later a charge was on my bank statement from Your Savings Club. How they got my personal information, I do not know EXCEPT when all this started I was asking for my credit report on line which I never could log onto. These two so called companies are so fraudulent and my only suggestion to someone else would be NOT to ask for a credit report...

Unauthorized charge!
Privacy Matters has charged my $29.95 two times now. I did not sign up for the service. When I call them you get this run around like they are confused. It is a rip off!! I have disputed the charge with my bank, let's see what happens? Beware!!!

No Monthly Statement
I started to sign up for Privacy Matters on-line, and cancelled out of the subscription. Something I didn't notice until recently is that the company has been charging $29 to my credit card each month. Obviously, it's my fault that I didn't notice this $29 charge until now (six months later), but I find it odd that Privacy Matters doesn't send out a monthly billing statement. If Privacy Matters had sent out a monthly statement, either through an Email or regular mail, I would have cancelled this service the first month, not six months (and approximately $150), later. It's my fault that I didn't check my monthly credit card statement very carefully, but I think the corporation Privacy Matters has a very dodgy way of conducting business.

Unauthorized charges!
I recently found this site which advertised a "free" credit report. It appears that companies who offer this "free" service make their money with credit monitoring. That's fine if that is what you want, but i immediately canceled this service. I soon found charges for 14.95 (labeled AP9* PRIVACY MATTER SID) on my bank statement even though i canceled. When i contacted the company they mentioned that i signed up for not one but two different services?!? The one that i canceled was for 29.95. The other so called service was still active for 14.95. A SCAM if I've ever seen one.

$1 credit card charge
This is an internet business called Privacy Matters (www.privacymatters.com). On or around June 26 I tried to get what was called a "free" credit report. I understood that if I enrolled I had a period of time to unenroll if I wanted to. I proceeded to fill out the information. When I clicked the enroll button, I received a message that said we are unable to enroll you, please call this 800 number. I tried 2 or 3 times and got the same message. I gave up and decided it wasn't worth messing around with. When I received my credit card bill, I was charged two different fees, $1 and $29.95. When I called to ask about this they said I had enrolled into their program to receive credit reports. I explained to them what happened when I tried to enroll. They were willing to refund the $29.95, but not the $1 nor the $1 that my credit card charged for each transaction.
Now I realize this is only $1. But if this is done to enough people, they would make quite a nice income. I asked for a supervisor and after a few minutes waiting, got the supervisor. The supervisor informed me the same thing, and said I was sent an email regarding this charge. I never received this email or I would have called right away. I even looked in my spam mail. She refuse to refund the $3 and would not allow me to speak to anyone else. Then she hung up on my when I nicely refused to hang up the phone.
Is there anything one can do about this?
Thank you,
Deborah
