Thieves Who Commit Fraud
PrivacyMatters123 obtained my debit card and fraudulently began debiting from my account. Discovered while balancing my checkbook on 1/22/11. 1st charge was for $1.00. Later same day - $2.00. (Those are 'tests' to see if they have a good acct # and if there's funds available.) Three days later, they hit my acct for $29.95. I contacted my bank, reported fraudulent activity, and canceled my debit card.
I NEVER signed up for their services - either directly, indirectly, (through come-on offers like a lot of folks have reported - like Classmates.com, or Peoplefinders.com, etc.), or otherwise. Then they fraudulently assigned a bogus name and address as the recipient of their services which were charged to my acct, because they have no supporting documentation that I signed up. Nice trick.
When I called to get answers, they wouldn't even say what services or products their company offered. I was told to request that from them in writing. Upstanding company, huh! No surprise that their 'address' is on Dodge Rd in Omaha, NE. Try and 'dodge' this - next step will be to report them to all the pertinent agencies - police (to file a report), State Attys General (NE, CA, and NY), BBB, etc. etc. Their time will come.

Unauthorized Charges
Unauthorized charges by this company were made to my credit card account. It was charged for $29.95, $29.95, $1, $1 which totals $61.90. I emailed a request for credit to my account for the two $29.95 charges--at that time I had missed the two $1 charges.
I would have preferred to talk to someone but only the 24/7 phone announcemnet works, not the representatives on the weekend.
The only recent credit report pulled that I know of was for my husband by the owner of a rental property. I am glad I could read about experiences of other with this company to confirm my impression of them.

Fraud
I too was a victim of this fraudulent company.
I called them and and talked to a customer service rep, who was no help, and demanded to talked to the boss
Told him we never sighed up for this, and then i threatened to contact my states Attorney General, he then agreed to refund all the money to me since they started taking it out
checked my bank statement today and got the refund
Watch out if you sigh up for classmates .com thats where they got me
Good luck to all, maybe you all could try to do the same.

Deducted an unauthorized $24.99 from checking account
I was checking my account balance online because I am running really low on money and my checking account or debit card had been comprised by Privacy Mat for $24.99. I tried to call them but they want my account number (which I do not have one), my home phone (of course did not work), or the card number that was charged (yea, like I'm going to give them that). Therefore had to cancel debit card and wait for a new one. And, now I really do not have any money. Hope I don't end of with overdraw fee too.

Be cautious
Privacy Matters123, an anti theft website (!!!), Has posted charges which are showing up on my checking account. The credit card info was traced to Classmates.com! Beware of both!!!The bank says it cannot remove the pending charge until it is posted then I can go through them again to try to remove the charge. So all in all I am dealing with Classmates, Privacy Matters and my bank to get this charge removed! Seems like NO one is protecting here. Be super cautious and if you are on Classmates move to face book where their services are for free!

Scam alert
SCAM This company continues to rip people off. It took me 4 months to spot their charges amongst the 50 or so charges I make every month on my credit card bill. When I wrote the company and requested a complete refund of my 4 months because I did not know who they were, what they provided for service and have never been contacted via email, phone or land mail that I was supposedly enrolled. They stated they canceled my membership(what membership???) They apparently phish ones credit card from some other site that they are also involved in. I used PublicRecordsNow for one search of a old friend and I paid the charge using this particular credit card. Only 7 days later, after I checked all my back credit card statements, charges started hitting my account from this Privacy Matters company. I think they are part of this Records Research company and they share the credit card numbers in order to charge peoples accounts for other things. I do not remember signing up for any such service, but i assume they can mask the sign up process up bu many means and you do not even know you are signing up involuntarily. I suggest you look at your credit card bils religously especially after using some type of credit report, people search, etc. This company apparently has some alliance with some of these. I will update my review once my credit card company does the research on the bogus charges that I disputed.

They continue to charge me after I cancel
They have continued to charge my bank account after I have called them and canceled several different times. I would not suggest anyone giving them any information as now I am considering canceling my cards and getting new ones just so I dont have to deal with these people. I do not suggest anyone sign up with them. As of today December 16th 2009 my account has been charged again after canceling last month and the month before that. so I call to cancel again and I cannot get anyone all computer automated junk. I finially send them a email and we will wait and see if I get anytype of response. I may have to go to my bank and dispute the charges.

Stealing money
Privacy matters is stealing my money. I signed up and after 15 minutes, I realized something wasn't right with the site. I immediately cancelled my membership, received my membership cancellation, however, they still took $2.00 out that next day. After looking at my account again, I noticed that they took out another $2.00 this month. How can they be taking my money if I cancelled!? Because they are FRAUDS!
Immediately file with your bank if you have signed up with these scammers, these are fradulent charges. Call the BBB, they are thieves.
Do not sign up with this website, you will regret it.

unauthorized charges on card
I went through my bank account info and found a few different times that this "company" had $29.95 charges a few times a month on my card. I don't know how to rectify it and get my money back. I didn't authorize this. How do I get it all back?
