ProFlowers Reviews

Never use them
Three months ago I sent flowers to a friend who lost her mother in law. ProFlowers sent me a confirmation and then tried to get me to sign up for Easy Saver, some program that gives me discounts that I don't want. Three months later, I received a charged for $14.95 on my bank account from Easy Saver. I distinctly recall selecting No, I don't want to take advantage of any more offers. I just want to order flowers. I just called Easy Saver and was told that I selected Yes. While the online representative said she would happily refund my account, I wonder about all of the other people who are not watching their credit cards and bank accounts closely. Do not - I repeat - do not order from ProFlowers. Also Google Easy Saver and see who also partners with them and don't use those companies either. In this day and age when money is very tight, it is companies like these who should be hauled into court for ripping people off.

Beware
ProFlowers/Easy-saver. Debited my credit card account for 6 months before we realized it. I placed the order over the phone with a live operator not on the Internet. So the usual excuses of "why" it happened didn't apply to me. ProFlowers eventually blamed the operator for being new and inexperienced and apologized profusely. All a scam. Between ProFlowers and American Express we were reimbursed our monies. We have stopped ordering on line or over the phone with ProFlowers, went back to FTD and local florist where we know there are no sneaky scams. Beware of ProFlowers and Easy-saver.

Caroline Segars
Having had a couple of bad experiences with ProFlowers, when I discovered this site, I began rooting around reading about the experience of others. I seems that there are at least 2000 complaints about ProFlowers, Red Envelope, Free Shipping.com, Easy Saver, and Encore Marketing that share the "questionable" web practices these companies seem to be engaging in as a group. Is this just a coincidence (wink, wink): I think not.

This "consortium" should be "outed" and I will do what I can to make sure that it happens. From everything that I have seen, they may be engaged in the practice of "mini-fraud" capitalizing on those who don't figure out that free shipping billings began with their inadvertent clicking of a box (they will say it was the greed & negligence of the customer) and simply write off one or a few, or perhaps dozens of monthly billing out of laziness, embarassment, or lack of time. If thousands of people have shared this experience on this site in the last 4 years, how many others have been victims; how many who have never thought they could get their money back?

I bumped into an amazing common thread: Caroline Segars. Who?

Caroline Segars. Rather than have me tell you, I will let you read what she has to say about who she is as she tries to explain what it is that goes on with these companies. Note that the oldest entries, those at the bottom, are the most telling. She eventually stops giving her last name and relies on a "canned" message. You will need to cut & paste this link from Complaints Board. Then click on comments.

Now, after you have identified who she is, you have to visit her "former Identity".

Not only does she slam the competition, but she belittles a customer who complains! To me, this speaks of knowlege of the victimization.

All of that aside, why is it that she has attempted to respond to a tiny percentage of the customers who have been scammed by these companies? If she was really concerned with what is going on, here, she would be all over this site and similar sites, clearing up the issues that seem to be plaguing thousands if not tens of thousands of victims out there.

By the way, Caroline, I smell a rat here... illy (really?) The timing seems quite coincidental...

oh, and the registration timing on the other two people who mention your name... I just don't believe them... but that's me!

Caroline, you were online checking out complaints within the last week... how about a response?????

fraudulent charges
My boyfriend ordered flowers from these people for Valentine's Day. They left the flowers outside in the below freezing weather, so they were not blooming. It took them a week to bloom. My boyfriend complained and got a refund. We then started getting things delivered to the house. Jewelry, Jupiter Jack, and now membership in two different saver clubs. After calling the bank we find out that all of them are affiliated with Tele Brands. DO NOT order or have anything to do with these people.

Frauduloent?
Is proflowers fraudulent?
I ordered flowers for Valentine's day and had a guaranteed delivery by friday the 12th. They did not arrive, due to the strom on the East coast I was told, which backed-up everything. OK, fine. They arrived Saturday to my recipient's office. She had to drive 40 minutes one-way to get them. They were dead. OK, fine, due to the other problems they likely sat unwatered too long on a truck or dock in the cold. Called Proflowers, nice woman in customer service; apologized, offered a replacement, I said it was too late, I wanted a refund, she said of course. OK, fine.
I recently got an email from Proflowers saying I could get an ADDITINAL 20% off my next order of anything on their site (including specials). They did not give me a coupon code or number to apply; I had to follow the link in the email to get the discount rather than being able to search their website through the homepage or other emails I had recieved (this tactic by Proflowers is crucial to the issue at hand...read on). OK, fine. My dad's 85th B-day is coming up, thought I'd give Proflowers the benefit of the doubt and send Dad some flowers. So I followed the link in question, saw a good price on a dozen roses + a dozen free. I figured I'd get these and then apply the 20% "We're Sorry" discount. So when I click on the "Buy" botton, it goes to the webpage that gives you options on the order. Generally these offers include a free vase. There was no free vase there though; the one that was usually free was $6. OK, fine? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Why? Bear with me. A couple of days before this "We're Sorry" email I received a reminder email from Proflowers that my Dad's b-day was coming up (they have a program; if you enter the dates of which you want to be reminded, you get an email reminder). This email had a "special" offer for flowers for Dad. I checked it out through the link in the email. I then again checked the pricing in the "We're Sorry" email and compared. Same flowers, same picture of the flowers, same discount. OK, fine? NOPE. The thing is, the Dad's reminder email include a free vase. But it did not have the extra 20% discount that the "We're Sorry" deal had. Here is the math. $29.99 (call it $30) for the flowers, plus 20% "We're Sorry" discount, thus $24. Thank you Proflowers? Oh, that's right, I have to pay $6 for the vase. So we are back to $30. Same flowers for Dad's b-day reminder email, $29.99 (call it $30), plus free vase (same vase), so the price is $30 for each offer; in other words, there really wasn't an extra 20% apology.
So, instead of refund + we'll send more flowers to replace the original ones that were dead (I didn't request this by the way, just a refund...but it would have beeh nice?), Proflowers sends me the "We're Sorry" email that says they are giving me a 20% ADDITIONAL discount that was, in reality, not a reduction in cost over what I could get by simply going to the homepage. So I guess "We're Sorry" really means "Hey, here's an offer no better than what you would norally get but you probably won't figure it out and mabe we can make the extra six bucks off of you because you are stupid." So OK, fine? Or is it fraudulent to suggest to someone that you are giving them an extra discount when indeed you PURPOSEFULLY are not?

Worst service ever
I ordered a dozen red roses and upon delivery there was ONLY ELEVEN red roses and I was CHARGED for a dozen. ISN'T a dozen TWELVE???? I WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN!!! I could have went to my local supermarket and gotten a dozen roses and recieved all 12 flowers, exactally what I paid for, even a roadside vendor would not "RIP" you off, especially here at Valentines Day! And the quality of the roses are "POOR" several of them have black tips on the pedals upon arrival. YOU SUCK PRO FLOWERS!!! YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR NAME TO "PO FLOWERS" that would be more suitable for the quality of flowers and count.YOU SUCK< YOU SUCK!!

I will never order flowers from Proflowes again
I feel cheated! TV ad promises a discount, but when I order the flowers, I see no discount. I do see these extra charges that doubled my bill.Guaranteed Delivery=$9.99, Handling= $1.99, Standard delivery $12.99. I estimated about $30 but ended with $58.79. I will never order flowers from Proflowes again.

Small minature roses, wilted & scam
First - is that the flowers they send are an embarrassment very very small minature roses & half were wilted. On th website they claim "standard" size which these are not.

Second - A day late in delivery - FedEx is late? I don't think so. Placed the order 4 days previous and they are shipping from NJ (state next to us city is about 100 miles away)

Third - Esavers scam. Please look at your bank statement for the $1.95 charge first then $14.95 a month afterwards. I seen this that if you click on discount coupons (I almost did-but backed off) they will file with a third party & send then all your bank account info and will sign you up (unkowingly)for this monthly charge. I also seen that some were still resolving this to get a credit back to their account. BUYER BEWARE!!

I now realise I'm not the only one to have been deceived.
I'll persevere to get my money back and will post a new comment to explain what hapened.
