After being a Customer for this Company, paying always, yes always on time for five years. On April 2nd/2009 my trailer burned down, nothing was recovered, 100% lost. I called two days later Progress Energy to inform it; at this time, I didn't know, where I was going to live. I couldn't transfer because I didn't have a place to live...
On April 10, I rent a trailer (my was owned but I didn't have insurance) in the same park and called Progress Energy to connect the electricity. I was asked for a $285 (became $290.99) as a deposit. I argue and argue, why this deposit? At the end, the customer service, very nonchalant, answer me: Well, do you want electricity or not? I, even, asked if there were another company in my area, Lake Wales, FL. She said, not we are the only one.
I wonder, when WE are going to be protected from these monopolies?
