SCAM- FRAUDULANT INVOICES
Progressive Business Publications sent our company (River Valley Auto) invoices for a newsletter we never subscribed to. The invoice had no phone number on it so we googled it. Progerssive business publications scam came up as we were typing the name into google. This scam is happening all over. Our company is based out of Rockford, Michigan but they are running this scam all over the USA. We found their number on the BBB website and called to get things cleared up. We got greif UNTIL WE TOLD THEM WE WERE GOING TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND WE KNEW IT WAS A SCAM. This may be the only way to get them to stop. We will find out if they actually follow thru with their promise to stop sending bills and clear the fraudulant charges.

SCAMMERS
My story is the same as countless others. This company some how obtains names and titles of people, and then cold calls for the person. They validate the information they have and even after you say NO NO NO not interested, they still "send you the publication." The funny thing is, we received an invoice labled as 2nd past due invoice saying that they sent 4 newsletters already when we had only received the one that came with that invoice. The news letter is a total joke and the information isn't even on a highschool level of understanding business.
When I called in and let them know, they immediately started shooting off someone in our company's name saying that they authorized it and had her b-day to prove it. I made it clear that a birthday can be found very easy and that is by no means any kind of confirmation. We have strict policies in our company on making purchases and that individual certainly wouldn't have ordered anything.
I found it interesting when I called and got the standard electronic operator spouting out a list of choices that the last option was "Customer Service". Before that, was "If you are an employee or former employee calling to reach our payroll department press 5". How bad of a company do you have to be if you are having an option for your former employees to be complaining about payroll issues? The funny thing is, if you select that option, it immediately goes to voicemail.
The company is defintely a scam company. I can't imagine how may people just pay the invoice not knowing and keep them in business.
