I wanted to purchase a Panasonic TH46PZ800U plazma television and searched for price comparisons. Projectorexport.com came up with a price of $1300 + $150+ for shipping. I looked at the web site which was 5 star rated by CNET, Bizrate indicated it was customer certified, and shopping.com indicated it was a trusted store. I ordered the product online. I called the company the day after I ordered to confirm I was buying new and if it was in stock and assured it was both. I also confirmed my order per an email request from the company. I then received another email seeking verification. I called and told them I had already verified the order and asked for a delivery date. I was told between 9 - 14 days because of the Labor day holiday. Because I had never heard of the company and the price was much lower than other sites, I googled complaints and saw a plethura of them indicating many problems with the company. It being 10 days and no tracking order issued, I then asked my wife to call and inquire if the TV was in stock. Projectorexport indicated it was and that a tracking order is issued when shipped. I then called the company the next day and was told that the TV was on backorder and it would be delivered in 3 to 4 weeks. I told them my wife had just called and was told it was in stock and how is it that my order whcih had been submitted 10 days before was on backorder. No explanation could be given BUT THEY DID OFFER ME AN "UPGRADED, NEWER VERSION" which I rejected as I had read of this bait and switch tactic. I thanked them and hung up and after verification that they had not charged my credit card, canceled it and asked for a replacement card so as not to have to deal with any charges from Projectorexport. I then ordered the set from J&R.com and emailed a cancellation to Projectorexport. This moring I received to emails asking me to call and verify the order from Projector export.
Frankly I was surprised they hadn't charged my credit card account yet so it made cancellation much easier as the credit card companies will not cancel a charge prior to receiving it. I didn't want to go through the hassle of writing the credit card company and disputing the charge. I don't know how this company can stay in business if their customer service and delivery is so poor. I WOULD STRONGLY URGE no one to do business with this company as you can't believe a word they say or the information on their web page.
