It's high time the new Tamil Nadu government looked into the nefarious activities of colleges and universities in the state. I am particularly referring to PSG College in Coimbatore. The manner in which the college authorities have been fleecing parents is unbelievable. Every year when the college reopens, fees are hiked all around without any explanation. The capitation fee too is jacked up year after year. This year, for example, they demanded exorbitant amounts and the parents had no choice but shell out the money.
In the hostels, in rooms meant for two children they have squeezed in four. This is highly objectionable. The students are virtually crammed into little rooms. When asked, hostel authorities retort: 'You can leave if you don't like it'! This is after charging huge fees for hostel accommodation. I earnestly request education authorities in the state to investigate the affairs of the college immediately.
