These people called and offered me a magazine subscription. After calling me like 4 times a day for a week, they finally talked me into getting a subscription, but worded it in a way that made it seem like I would pay $36 for the first month, than $14 for every consecutive month. But when I got my bank statements, I saw they were charging me $36 EVERY month and I got a letter in the mail from them saying I agreed to pay 30 monthly payments of $36, which adds up to over $1, 000!!! So I immediately called them and wanted to cancel my subscription, but of course by that time, it had already passed the 10-day cancelation period, so they wanted $150 to cancel it.
I was furious, but they said for the miscommunication, they would waive the charges for a year's worth of magazines and that I could pick any magazines I wanted, so I chose like 5 magazines and they said they would be in the mail soon. Not only did it take WEEKS to get my magazines, but they were sending me magazines that I did not request and did not want. They were sending me magazines such as Bridal Guide and Working Mother (among others)... I am a 20-year old college student... certainly not getting married OR planning to be a mother anytime soon. I called them and told them I didn't want those magazines and they just said they were "complimentary gifts." At least send me complimentary gifts of something useful!!
Then, not too long ago, they called me to check up on my subscription and said something about it only being $28/month now, so to enjoy my savings. I thought that meant instead of charging me $36/month, they would only charge me $28... wrong. My next bank statement showed BOTH payments being deducted. I have tried NUMEROUS times to call and settle this, but I can't get through to anyone.
NEVER do business with these scam artists!! They will completely rip you off and have you paying outrageous amounts of money for magazines you don't even want. Don't fall for their deceiving lies!
