PureBredBreeders.com serves as a middleman for breeders throughout the United States. Their only interest is in making money. To make money, they lie, misrepresent, and false advertise the puppies they market.
We purchased a "Toy Poodle" named Onyx from PureBredBreeders. The advertisement said he jet black (his name was Onyx), that he was a toy poodle from championship lines, and gave the weights of both parents. I had many questions, as this was the first time we chose to buy a dog online. However, I was told I could not speak with the breeder. Instead, whoever happened to pick up their phone, gave me plenty of assurances that this puppy would be perfect.
To make an incredibly long story short, everything about dealing with this company was a nightmare. We were told the puppy was bred in Texas (we live in Virginia), but it turned out he was bred in New Jersey!!! Once they had the money in hand, I was allowed to speak with a breeder, but again, most questions were not answered. When we finally received the Certificate of Pedigree and the application for AKC Registration, we found out that our puppy's lineage was a mixture of toys and miniatures, and black and red coats! Nothing purebred about that!
When I complained to purebredbreeders that our puppy was growing beyond the standard for a toy poodle (max 10" in height at the shoulder), they denied any responsibility, saying that they sold us a poodle, not a specific size. A ridiculous response, given that they advertise the three varieties of poodles: toy, miniature and standard. Our dog is now 13 1/2 inches and well within the miniature range, but far from the toy size we had thought we were buying. When
After spending considerable time disputing the purchase with American Express and purebredbreeders, and after spending considerable money at the vets for check-ups and shots, they finally agreed to refund our $1200 fee for the dog as long as we returned the dog!!! This is where they have you! Once you have the dog in your home and take care of it, most people are not going to return the animal.
PureBredBreeders is a scam. They lie. They cheat. They misrepresent. Once they have your money, they refuse to accept ANY responsibility for the product they sold you. As this is their business model, DO NOT PURCHASE A PET FROM PureBredBreeders.com!
