Home Dialysis Facility, sounds great and very convenient and is. Problem, watch the fine print on anything you sign with this company! Husband was using this service Sept. 2003 until he passed away last year.
Original contract sighned stated they would accept Medicare & Private insurance, which we had. In 2007, we decided I should learn to give him dialysis which would have lowered the bill by 1900.00 per week.
That is when they came up with all theses charges that said medicare/insurance had never paid. It was in the thousands! Then administrator called to say they were updating their files and needed us to sign papers. This was in 2007, but she back dated them to 2003. I took document to a lawyer and was advised not to sign. The new papers gave them power of attorney over life ins. policies or anybenefits a survivor
may receive. I soon informed her that we would never sign that. She said "We would be the only ones that didn't." There's the problem. If someone didn't really understand wht they were signing, their families are going to be without any benefits. It's very unethical and an underhanded move, when a family is already dealing with major illness and possible death. Just a word of warning...be careful what you sign!
