I ordered this dietary supplement from an ad on Charter.net. The deal was for a trial of a weight loss product for which I would have to pay only the shipping and handling. I called right away to change my mind, but the customer service agent I spoke to said I needed to wait to cancel my order for 2 hours. When I called back, I asked to cancel my order so that I would not incur he postage fees. I was told it was nonrefundable, so I might as well receive product. When I called back to cancel, the customer "service' agent wagered an aggressive campaign to get me to try the product. They are not a US-bound company, so not only were the postage and handling fees deducted from my account, so was a 10 cents foreign POS charge also wagered. My only recourse to stop them charging me any more is to cancel the account I used to "pay" for the product and have a new one issued.
This company claims to "sell" a product that promotes natural weight loss through the acai berry and green tea extracts, but those ingredients are nominal. They mean to cause an addiction by instructing the consumer to take 2 tablets, which together contain 200mg of caffeine. I took no more and threw out the rest so I would not be tempted to keep taking them. They claim that they will charge you over a dollar to cancel the product, or charge between $80 and $90 for a 12 month supply. They are not based in the US, so I wonder if the product is regulated by the FDA! The ingredients listed on the bottle are:
Acai berry propietary blend - 970mG
Acai extract (berry) 4:1
Green tea extract 45%
EGCG (what's that?)
Caffeine Anhydrous 200mg
+ Gelatin, Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, and Microcrystalline Celluose
