I ordered a copy of "Now, Discover Your Strengths" from Amazon.com
I am currently reading the book and I have come to the part where the reader is directed to go to http://www.strengthsfinder.com to take a test. On the site, you are directed to enter a code printed on the inside of the back cover.
The code I entered did not work. I tried it several times. I sent 2 e-mails via their web site and then called The Gallup Management Journal.
The woman who answered the phone (Phone Number:
(888) 274-5447) told me that the code I gave her could not be used. It had already been used by the book's previous owner and the code can only be used once. She suggested that I could buy another book so that I could have a (new) code and take an updated version of the test.
I would not have ordered this book if I had known about the unusable code. There was no point in ordering this particular book. I cannot take the test and therefore I cannot review the results --which is the next part of the book.
I resent not being informed about the book's unusable code. I cannot complete the "strength finding" process and that was the whole point of my purchase. I think the book was sold to me in a deceptive manner.
