Rent A Fakers
I currently started Renting at Rent a Center. When I went in I rented a 42' TV, entertainment center, Blueray Surround sound system, xbox with kinects, couch, chair, coffee table, end tables, and lamps. About $600 a month worth of things. When they came out the first time they were on time besides bringing the wrong remote. Accidents can happen. A week later I trade my 42" TV in for a 47" TV. Again they bring the TV with the wrong remote this time an hour after scheduled time with no call. A week later I have my nephew over. As we were watching TV he throws a tennis ball for my puppies. The ball bounced on the floor hit the 47" TV and it goes out. I call them as soon as it happens. They tell me they will be out 4 days later to pick it up and bring me a Loaner TV. Okay they came out and got the 47" TV and brought a LG TV with the wrong remote this time an hour or two after scheduled time. The week before last I go in and speak to the manager and talk to him about the TV that is broke. He told me it could be negligence on my part, so we talk about it and I asked him what about the liability insurance I am paying and how am I in negligence over a 4 yr old playing with a tennis ball. He threw his hands up and said oh its probably nothing. If anything it will most likey be under $200 and we will pay for it. Same day I spoke to him about upgrading my TV again to a 55" TV and he said that is a great idea. Well last Monday I found out that my fiance lost his employment wages and I called them on Tuesday and told them that I had to turn everything in for now and hopefully come back to them in a few weeks. Well the guy on the phone told me that was no problem but if anything is wrong with the TV I am still liable for it I said okay. Well the guy scheduled for them to come get the stuff on Friday (last Friday) No show and No Call. I stayed up all night on Thursday night cleaning there stuff and cleaning my home for them to come. They said they would be here between 2 and 4 o'clock in the evening. I had to meet with my employer that evening and I couldn't make it because I was waiting on RAC to show up or at least call. I almost lost my money from my employer because of waiting on them. And yet nothing happened. My fiance called them today and asked them why they didn't show up and the lady told him I don't know but I will find out for you. She said they didn't place it on the schedule but she heard them talking about coming to get it. While she was on the phone she told him we had a certified letter there about the TV. My other half told them we would come get it. Once we got to the store the Manager came out and told him we owed $759 for the TV because it couldn't be replaced and we had two choices. One, to pay weekly to pay it off or two, get the certified letter and go to court. My question is how in the world can we be liable for a TV that a 4 yr old accidently hit with a tennis ball. What is liability Insurance for? I mean come on almost everyone has kids and animals. Anything can happen. At least I was honest with them and didn't try to scam them. I pay weekly for liability insurance for nothing. && I pay them almost $600 a month for all that I had. Oh and they said I owe $759 and if I go to court it will be considered A Malicious Act. All I have to say is bring it on.
