I had bought a 2 slot DVD player and surround sound receiver from a Radio Shack store in TX before i moved to TN in 2005. In July of 2006 the tray that rotates between the 3 disc slots broke and would not move or open any DVD slots. So I took my receiver to the nearest Radio Shack store since it was still covered by the warranty and could be repaired by them. I went in they found all of my information within their database and I left my receiver with them, in good faith. Boy was I wrong.
The store said they would contact me when it was returned to them. Come Oct. 2006 I still have not heard from the store so I called the Radio Shack service repair dept and they mentioned that they had fixed my received and shipped it back to the store. They even gave me a shipping tracking number to confirm they shipped it back to the store. I tracked it and the store had had my receiver for about 3 weeks and had not contacted me. (when I said they found my info in their system is was all correct and current, including my phone number which has not changed)
I called the store and the manager was not available and so I was talking to a sales person and I told him that I found out my repaired receiver was received by the store and I needed to come get it. He went to the back of the store and said it was not there. So I made him call his manager and find out where my receiver was since I had proof it was sent to the store. The manager says that they mailed it to my address. The problem was that I had moved from an apt to our new home within those months so they had mailed it to the wrong address. And why in the world did they not call me first?!?!
The manager argued that he had called me many times and left me voice messages...but I never received a phone call much less received a voice message from them. Again, my phone number never changed?!?! It was my cellular number!
I end up calling the regional manager and he fed me empty promises and never returned my phone calls. I called the store and the regional manager for months until I was told since it has been so long...it was a dead case! And i could do nothing about it.
They dragged it out until corporate said that it was a dead case b/c it was months out since i had first sent in my receiver. So I never got my receiver back or anything to compensate for that receiver.
And there was nothing I could do. I am still pissed.
